Ava hadn't backed down even after the warning and rejection from Elijah. Rosie wondered if Ava would ever feel embarrassed because Rosie would be.
She still showed up in the office and pretended as nothing happened.
"Need backup?" Rocco asked as he watched Ava walk around Rosie's desk. Rosie stayed a few feet away and just watched Ava wait patiently for Elijah to come.
She wanted nothing more than to run out of the company the moment Ava walked inside.
"No, I got it" Rosie replied. She walked over to her desk and Ava walked over to her. She really wanted to hear what Ava had to say now.
"I need to see Elijah" Ava demanded.
"Sorry, he doesn't want any company right now" Rosie replied tilting her head. Ava scoffed and crossed her arms.
"You can't keep me from him"
"Why are you going after someone who's already called for," Rosie asked.
Ava gave Rosie a smirk and touched the tip of Rosie's hair tangling it with her finger.
"You think I'm going to lose...to you?" Ava replied and Rosie raised her eyebrows. She never knew that it was a competition.
"It's pathetic" Rosie scoffed and called the guards over.
She ordered them to escort Ava out if she didn't leave.
"You can't do this" Ava said and it was Rosie's turn to smirk.
"Oh but I can" Rosie replied and the guards asked nicely that Ava leave quietly but she didn't listen.
She looked like she wanted to tear Rosie's head off.
"By the way, you lost" Rosie whispered to Ava and she left defeated. Rosie was marking her territory and Elijah was just the start.
She sat in the office all day doing paperwork till Elijah drove them to their favorite spot where they stargazed all night.
Rather than them being alone, lots of people were there with lanterns in hand.
Elijah handed Rosie a lantern and they both wrote secret messages that would soon be revealed to them once it flew up in the air.
Rosie wrote an honest message instead of a heartfelt one. She wrote that she was sorry for eating all of Elijah's protein bars.
It was just so good Rosie thought. They gave each other a wink and set their lanterns up in the sky.
Elijah's message vaguely read "Will you marry me Rose?" and she turned to find Elijah on one knee.
"What are you doing Elijah?" Rosie laughed putting her hands up to her mouth.
Elijah was proposing and she was too stunned to speak.
"It's a short life Rose and we've already wasted so much time over misunderstandings, I wanna marry you so bad please say yes" Elijah proposed and Rosie felt her eyes sting.
Everyone seem to be invested and even took videos.
"I'll marry you Elijah" Rosie accepted and Elijah put the ring on.
She tried not to focus on how expensive it looked, almost like every little girl dreams of when they want to get married.
Everyone cheered as Elijah and Rosie kissed.
"You ate my protein bars?" Elijah asked suddenly and Rosie couldn't hold back a laugh.
She was hoping her saying yes was distraction enough but it seems as that is not possible.
"How did you plan all this?" Rosie asked. He must have tweeted about this spot because no one ever sits here except for Elijah and Rosie.
He must have bought the lanterns too.
"Had a little help" Elijah pointed behind Rosie and she turned to find the girls recording everything.
She laughed and walked over to them.
"I didn't even recognize you," Rosie said.
"You didn't think we would miss your first proposal ever? I mean who knows who will propose to you ever again" Serena replied and Rosie rolled her eyes.
They had a big group hug before sitting down. Elijah left to go buy all of the girl's food and to give them a little privacy to discuss the current situation.
"So you're getting married," Anne said.
"Your mom is going to freak" Cora stated and Rosies smile faded.
She hadn't told her mother Callie, that she was even dating. Rosie knew that Callie would be so disappointed. Callie is against marriage which is part of the reason why she wanted to take it slow.
Callie is also against having children. She may have been projecting when she would tell Rosie every day to not get married or have kids.
"I sort of...haven't told her about my relationship with Elijah" Rosie replied and the girls turned to her in shock.
She knew she should've listened to her father about telling her mother but every time they have a conversation Rosie can't bring herself to tell Callie.
"Are you crazy? you have to tell her now" Spencer commended. Rosie felt like digging a hole and burying herself.
She was too scared to tell Callie and if she did then Callie would come to New York. Now is not the best time since Simon is looking for her.
Part of Rosie wished that Elijah proposed when Simon was caught or when they at least knew his whereabouts.
"I will, it's just that now is not the best" Rosie explained.
"Have you told Elijah ?" Spencer asked and Rosie nodded her head. Elijah would understand even if she didn't tell him.
He's very reasonable and she was sure that Callie would like him, when Rosie showed her who Elijah was in tenth grade, Callie said that he was cute.
"I will tell him later" Rosie stated as Elijah showed up with food. They ate and Elijah dropped all the girls home. They sat in a good silence while driving him.
"Everything okay?" Elijah asked and Rosie bit her lip. She thought now was as good as any time to tell him about her mother.
"I haven't told my mother about us" Rosie admitted and she waited for the "What?" from Elijah or at least blazing anger but nothing happened.
"I know you don't want to tell her because of the Simon situation and that's okay" Elijah replied. Rosie didn't know where she got such an understanding partner.
She leaned over and kissed Elijah lightly on the lips before sitting back in her original place.
"Bet you didn't see that-"
"Watch out!" Rosie screamed but it already had been too late.
