"You know what? I'm not doing this maybe Rocco can do a better job than me" Elijah yelled banging the front door after storming out.
Rosie was beyond confused about why Rocco was suddenly brought into the argument.
This was their first real argument as a couple and it was only one-sided. Rosie bit her lip anxiously while sipping on the hot coca Elijah made her.
She got up from the couch with her cup in hand and she tried to walk steadily but she lost her balance.
The cup broke and Rosie's hand was slashed into. Luckily the cut wasn't deep and she tried for fifteen minutes to get up the stairs but she finally made it to their bedroom.
She got into bed and tried to fall asleep but knowing that Elijah's out there late at night made her wary.
It was only an hour later that she heard the front door open and then running.
"Rose?" Elijah asked coming over to the side of the bed. Rosie kept her eyes closed as she didn't want to argue with him again.
"I know you're awake, what happened? I saw the cup inside was broken" Elijah kept pestering her so she sat up straight and held her hand out.
"I cut it" Rosie stated and Elijah took her hand in his.
"I'm sorry," Elijah said and Rosie looked down.
"What happened earlier?"
"You were right, I do blame myself," Elijah said honestly.
"There's no way you could've known Elijah"
"I know" he replied kissing her cheek.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure" Elijah replied.
"What's going on between you and Rocco? I know there's something else that split you up" Rosie asked.
She wanted to know badly so she could fix it and Elijah looked like he wanted to avoid the question.
"Elijah?"
"He rated you" Elijah replied and Rosie furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't know what he was talking about.
"What?"
"Sweet Rocco that you now know rated you in high school, there was a book that resurfaced of all the girls in our grade and you were in it, I got rid of it too but imagine my surprise when I find Rocco's name in there and him rating you" Elijah stated and Rosie was stunned to speak.
The Rocco she knows now would never do that to her.
"He was going to seduce you and have sex with you for that stupid book so I put the word out" Elijah stated.
"That if anyone tried anything with you then I would beat the shit out of them," Elijah said. Rosie's mouth had dropped.
No wonder no one ever asked her out and she thought what a hypocrite Rocco was.
He pretended like he was a good guy and then proceeded to judge Rosie for dating someone like Elijah.
"I can't believe it," Rosie said looking down. She felt betrayed yet again but more thankful to Elijah for looking out for her.
People would listen to Elijah since he was scary back then but also sweet in a typical way.
He mostly kept to himself seven years ago but when anyone needed him, Elijah would be there.
"I really hope Elijah sets Rocco balls on fire if he even has any," her subconscious said and Rosie's eyes widened.
Her subconscious was really morbid. She realized that Serena and Rocco have an ongoing relationship but she didn't need to worry about Serena because she could handle herself.
She was tough and fearless, if Rocco looked at her the wrong way then she would surely put him in his place.
"I-" Rosie cut Elijah off by crashing her lips onto his. She got on top of him as he gripped onto his ass.
She was trying to unbutton his shirt when he stopped her.
"Woah slow down, you know we can't," Elijah said and Rosie sighed with disappointment. She wasn't medically cleared by the doctors to have sex.
"This sucks" Rosie commented getting off Elijah and laying down. He laughed and laid down next to her.
"It's just temporarily so you don't overdo it," Elijah said wrapping his arms around her.
Rosie breathed deeply before going to sleep. She dreamt about all kinds of things that didn't make sense and like all good things, she forgot it the next morning.
She walked down the stairs on her own after having a conversation with Elijah about letting her do some things on her own and he agreed.
Amelia sat at the dining room table telling Rosie stories about Knox and Elijah.
"You know they used to annoy me so much and together they were unstoppable," Amelia said as she made tea for Rosie.
"Must have been nice" Rosie would always be envious of children who had healthy loving parents who were still married.
She wished that her parents were still together but after she found out that her father used to steal for drugs like Elm, Rosie realized that wasn't good for her mother.
She also hated it when someone with good parents that had a good relationship would say that they hated them for not letting them get away with their nonsense.
"Exactly like at least you have parents," her subconscious said.
"You know Elijah used to have much trouble with controlling his anger and Knox knew that so he took Elijah to abandoned houses that was going to be bulldozed or reworked and together they destroyed the house," Amelia said.
"It really helped Elijah to blow off some steam but after Knox passed away, he didn't want to go to those houses anymore and I couldn't help him at all" Amelia stated.
"What did he do to stop being angry?" Rosie asked and Amelia smiled.
She handed Rosie a picture of her singing on stage at school. It was rehearsals when she was singing but she didn't get to perform because someone took her name from the ballet.
After that, she was always insecure about her voice so she never sang again. People would always tell her that she had a beautiful voice.
"Elijah took this photo and every time he would get angry, he would look at the photo and count till three"
"Eventually it calmed him down" Amalia stated and Rosie laughed.
Seeing all these things that Elijah did for her back then was only half of what he did. He had always cared about her and that made her smile brightly. She was happy.
