"You're gonna be fine Elijah," Rosie said between tears trying to put pressure on the bullet wound only for Elijah to hold her trembling hands.

"It's okay Rosie, you can stop running now, you've reached the finish line," Elijah said cupping Rosie's face with bloody hands.

"Please stay with me, I can't do this without you," Rosie said crying hysterically. Elijah chuckled through heavily breathing.

Rosie was losing him and she couldn't do anything about it.

"Yes you can"

"N-no" Rosie replied trying to save him. Out of all the things that happened in her life, this stung.

"You still have goals and things to work for," Rosie said trying to keep him with her.

"I had a goal and I completed it's time for you to...do...the...same"

"What goal?" Rosie asked and Elijah put his hand up to her heart.

"You"

"Thank you, Rose," he said.

"For what?" She replied.

"For not....making me wait"

"Stop please" Rosie replied and Elijah wiped her tears. Elijah kissed her once more before closing his eyes. Rosie stared at his emotionless body full of shock.

"Elijah! Wake up" Rosie said shaking his body but he didn't respond. The ambulance came and they tried to resuscitate Elijah but they failed.

Cameras popped up in front of Rosie but all she did was look at her bloody hands. She blamed herself for his death and there was nothing that she could do.

Slowly, things became easier every day to the point where it was almost like she forgot what he smelled, tasted like and she even forgot his adorable laugh.

It's been two years since his death and Rosie couldn't bear the thought of him. It was like a piece of her left her soul like when Lily died.

She did everything the world had to offer with the money, Elijah left in his will to her. She traveled the world and became a published author like he wanted her to be.

Right now, she was on stage taking questions about her book.

"You," Rosie said smiling sheepishly at a fan that was in the audience.

"Why did Karden die at the end? I was pretty heartbroken" Rosie bent her head trying to answer this question.

She breathed in deeply and looked up to her fan.

"Well you know, love doesn't always work out and people die everyday, he just died a little sooner than others" Rosie replied and moved on to the next question.

"I heard your husband died, I'm truly sorry was Karden's character based on him?" A fan asked and Rosie smiled at her.

She always hated it when people brought up Elijah's death especially since she buried it deep inside of her refusing to acknowledge it.

It was like it didn't even exist and that it was all a dream.

"No, it was based on Elijah's father" Rosie replied. She wanted to bring awareness to black people being shot every day for just being a certain color.

She wanted to bring justice to Knox. She ended the meet and greet by signing all of the books.

After a long day, she plopped onto the bed and slept like a baby.

The next day she walked down the street where Elijah was shot. She remembered it like it was yesterday.

Rosie sat on the bench eating ice cream, she would do this every day.

"You always sit here every day," an old man said and Rosie looked at him.

She noticed that he did the same thing as her. Sit on a bench being lonely.

"Yeah well, I lost my husband here"

"I lost my wife too" he replied and Rosie felt sorry for him.

"How did she die?" Rosie asked and he turned towards her with a sad look on his face.

"She died from a heart attack, she saw a man being shot at this exact spot," the old man said and Rosie felt her eyes swelling up.

Not only is she the cause of Elijah's death but someone else's as well.

"That's not true," her subconscious said sitting on the right side of her on the bench.

Her subconscious was the only thing that kept her going otherwise she would end it all.

"I'm really-"

"So when are you going to wake up Rosie?" The old man said suddenly. Rosie turned to him in shock.

"What do you-"

"Rosie!"

"Rosie!" She abruptly woke up in a bed and looked at her surroundings.

She felt her heart race and she noticed where she was.

Had she been kidnapped and drugged? She looked up and saw the only face that made her feel safe. Elijah.

She sighed with relief and jumped in his arms.

"You were tossing and turning in your sleep, you quite literally kicked me off the bed" Elijah stated and Rosie let out a few tears.

She was glad to be in his arms again.

"What is it?" Elijah asked hugging her back.

"I saw Simon shoot you" Rosie stated and Elijah chuckled pulling her away so he could see her face. He wiped her tears away.

"It's just a bad dream and you don't have to worry about that because...his been caught" Elijah replied smiling.

Rosie felt an overwhelming sense of relief as Elijah was real and she was touching him.

She felt like never letting go of him ever again.

"How?" Rosie breathed heavily.

"He was hiding at one of my abandoned buildings" Elijah answered and felt so relieved that Elijah owned so many buildings or else he would be dead.

Elijah got up and took her to see Simon. He was sitting in a prison cell looking depressed.

"Rosie, glad you came to see me"

"I just wanted to see if it was really you" Rosie replied and left. She called her mother and thought it would be a good time to be honest with her about everything.

She could finally understand why Rosie did everything in her power to protect her even though it's supposed to be the other way around.

She looked around her surroundings taking everything in as the nightmare she had, still clung to her.

"Dope party," Amelia said looking at the party in front of her.
