It's bad enough, that the press follows her everywhere she goes. They are outside the restaurant as well.

"I'm fine dad," Rosie told him. She wasn't okay but she didn't want to be coddled. It was too much for her to handle.

"Any more threatening messages?" Rosie inquired trying to change the subject. She scratched her neck waiting for her father to answer her.

"Nope," he told her. She sighed and went on about her day. She also dropped in the office to work but Elijah sent her home.

He said that she needed rest after what happened. Rosie sat in the house and waited for something to happen that would take away her boredom.

Two weeks pass and she was finally able to work again.

She knew deep down that being an assistant wasn't what she wanted, she wanted to be a writer.

She was to travel the world and experience life from outside the comfort of her walls.

"Excuse me? is Elijah in today?" a woman around her age asked. She looked young and beautiful.

"Your name?" Rosie asked and the woman flipped her hair. She looked friendly but also very elegant. She held her hand out for Rosie to shake.

"It's Ava Montgomery" She replied and her eyes widened.

When Elijah pretended to not like Rosie and at first she didn't believe him so in order to lay her off his back, he told her that he liked Ava.

Ava was pretty and popular, everything Rosie wasn't.

Rosie wasn't popular but everyone knew her. Rosie wondered how many more people from high school would show up and she won't be surprised if her bully Kai showed up.

He only bullied her to fit in or he was bored but he backed off because of Elijah.

Back then, Elijah had a very hard time controlling his temper, if someone looked at him wrongly except Rosie he would snap.

"Oh, it's nice to see you" Rosie replied looking down at her hands. If wasn't obvious, one thing she lacked was confidence.

"Ava?" Elijah asked. Ava was about to hug him when he put his hand up for her to shake.

Her smile disappeared and she turned to Rosie. She rolled her eyes and shook his hand. As expected, Talia also showed up.

She took one look at Ava before scoffing. She stood next to Rosie leaning against her desk.

"Talia" Ava's titled her head in disgust.

"Ava" Talia did the same.

"What brings you here?" Elijah asked and Ava's smile appeared. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gave her best flirtatious look.

"I wanted to visit an old friend and I heard about that assistant that seduced you, I'm truly sorry" Ava stated and Rosie's jaw clenched.

As expected from every one of Elijah's love interests.

"Don't be" Elijah replied walking around to Rosie and wrapping an arm around her.

"Meet my wife Rosie" Elijah introduced them. Ava's smile twitched and Rosie could tell that she didn't like that.

"Girlfriend" Rosie corrected him. They weren't married yet but she supposed it's a good ploy to get people to lay off on flirting with either one of them.

Unless they don't care regardless if they're married. Rosie bit her lip when Ava folded her arms.

"I see"

"Don't bother Ava, they're like magnets, and Elijah's mother will never let anyone close to his son if it isn't Rosie" Talia said.

Rosie's eyebrows raised because it wasn't like Talia. She wondered if Elijah's mother had a talk with Talia.

"That's because she hasn't met me" Ava mentioned and Elijah tensed up.

"Why are you here Talia?" Elijah asked and she made eye contact with Rosie.

"For Rosie, I need to talk to her"

Rosie was torn between Talia and Ava. It's no surprise that she likes Talia more and she doesn't know Ava well enough to make a judgment call.

She also didn't want Elijah to notice the distress on her face.

She hated making things awkward for him at work and she even bought up transferring to someone else but he insisted that she stay there until she's ready to do what she really wanted which was to become a writer.

He asked her every day if she was ready to release the book that she finished. It wasn't all finished, she hasn't written the ending yet.

Rosie couldn't decide what ending she wanted whether it be happy or sad. She badly wanted to make it sad but Rosie didn't know which route to go.

"You guys talk," Talia said before taking Rosie's arm and guiding her outside to talk. She wondered what she did this time.

"Listen, I wanted to say...sorry I realize I was the bad friend and I'm probably too late to say it but I am truly sorry" Rosie was too stunned to speak.

Talia who loved having her pride up to the moon let it drop and she finally apologized.

"I want to explain why I blamed you" Talia added.

"I genuinely became friends with you because i liked you but when i found out you were Elijah's ex-girlfriend, I used you and I wish I could take it back" Talia explained. She took Rosie's hand and squeaked it tightly.

"I also wanted to say goodbye," Talia said and Rosie raised her eyebrows.

"You're leaving?" Rosie exclaimed. She hated herself if she was the cause of Talia leaving.

"I used to stay for Elijah and Vann but they are happy now so there's nothing left for me here anymore except...pain" Talia answered and Rosie pulled her in for a hug.

She understood where Talia was coming from.

"I forgive you Talia, be happy" Rosie replied and they hugged once more before Talia left. Rosie knew that this wasn't the last time seeing Talia.

She went back to her desk and Elijah's office door was open and Rosie knew he didn't like that. Ava walked out and Elijah walked behind her at a safe distance.

"Bye Rosie" Ava seemed severely disappointed and Elijah wrapped his arms around Rosie's waist.

"What happened?"

"She wanted to confess her feelings but I cut her off" Elijah replied.

No wonder Ava gave her death glare. One rival leaves and another appears.

"Periodt! as he should," her subconscious said and Rosie laughed. Elijah wanted in on the joke of course.
