"Are you okay?" Serena asked Rosie while putting a hand on her shoulder. Serena really did have a soft spot and especially for Rosie.
That's reason she's so hard on Rosie because Serena feels like she won't be always be there to fight Rosie's battles. She's trying toughen up Rosie.
"I'm fine thank you, Serena" Rosie replied with a small smile.
She had always liked when Serena was vulnerable but she liked Serena more as her obnoxious self. Serena always knows when to ask if Rosie is okay or not.
"Whatever" Serena rolled her eyes while moving to the bar for more drinks. Rosie knew that "whatever" translated to "I'm glad your okay, I was worried".
The night ended with Cora and Serena drunk off their asses while Rosie and Anne were sober while walking and half carrying them to their room.
Rosie got the office early as usual and much to her dismay Talia hadn't come by yet.
Rosie thought she was finally realizing that Elijah wasn't interested. Rosie brought her doll with that was the last item to the "Not in this lifetime" book series.
She's obsessed with it that she had all the merchandise and sets. She's a hopeless romantic.
"Are you playing with a doll?" A voice said and Rosie snapped out of trance. It was Rocco. He was basically her bestfriend.
"Hey what are you doing here?" Rosie asked putting the doll down. She went up to Rocco to hug him. She hadn't seen him in a few weeks
"Came to see Elijah is he in?" Rocco mentioned looking at Elijah's office.
He had a stange look on his face as if hiding something. Rosie could have sworn the he gently nudged her away as if pretending she was a stranger.
"Yeah but fair warning his a little annoyed today" Rosie replied and Rocco stepped back from her. He was staring at Elijah's office with a worried look on his face.
"When is he not?" Rocco laughed hesitantly and a little softer than usual. Rosie was worried by his behavior.
He was acting like a teenager would when being caught by their parents for doing something bad.
"Is everything okay? You look stressed maybe you should-" as Rosie was about finish her sentence, Talia arrived.
It wasn't hard to notice her, all you have to do is hear her heels clicking and you'll know.
"If it isn't Rocco himself" Talia said holding a hand out for him to shake. His smile faded but nevertheless he shook it anyway.
"It's like a mini reunion" Talia spoke and Rocco's heard flung up with wide eyes.
"What do you mean?" Rosie asked because as far as she was aware, they all had seen each other at Talia's press conference.
Rosie only went for Rocco's sake as he was the speaker there.
"Nothing" Rocco whispered before Talia could deliver what she meant to Rosie. She felt uncomfortable with the tension in the air.
"Unbelievable" Talia said in utter shock like she had just discovered something. She seems somewhat relieved for some reason.
"She doesn't know does she?" Talia spoke yet again for something Rosie was unaware of. Rocco had a nervous look on his face.
They are hiding something from her. Before Rosie could ask Elijah walked out of his office with his hands in his pockets as usual.
"Just when my day couldn't get any worse" Elijah said bluntly not even bothering to say hi before just walking back into his office.
He made sure to let them know that he locked the door by clicking the lock loudly. He would unlock it once they left.
"You two should go" Rosie told them and they left with disappointment plastered on their face.
Rosie went back to play with her doll before the day had gone smoothly as usual. However, today Elijah was finishing a bit late and Rosie couldn't leave until he was done.
He seemed to be arguing on the phone with investors. Elijah usually had a directive tone when speaking to someone. It sounded rude but he was just being honest.
Rosie loved the truth so she didn't have a problem with him being honest but sometimes there's a restriction to how much you say.
Elijah didn't have that and even Serena wouldn't be that honest with someone.
"Dolls? Really?" Elijah said and Rosie got up trying to hide her doll behind her back.
"Sir?"
"I'm working late and I need dinner" Elijah grunted giving Rosie his order before going back to his office to yell at some more investors.
Rosie left to buy his food without any hesitation and quickly rushed back to office. She went into Elijah's office only to see his head on his desk.
He must have been tired because he never sleeps at work. She tried taking the papers away from his desk so that she can put a pillow underneath his head but he caught her hand.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you" Rosie apologize pulling her hand away from his grip.
Elijah sat upright still having an annoyed look on his face.
"You want my advice?" Rosie asked as she looked at the investors files that denied Elijah's company because of how "arrogant" he is.
"Not really" Elijah answered sighing. He looked stressed and worn out.
"Well I'm going to give it to you anyway" Rosie replied knowing that it wasn't her place go say anything. She didn't care though.
"If you tried to be sympathetic towards others and their situation people would realize your not so bad" Rosie shared and Elijah snorted like he didn't believe her.
"You don't believe me?"
"Fine give me one of your investors and I'll prove it to you" Rosie held her hand out so Elijah can hand the phone. Elijah stood up from his chair and gave her the phone.
"Fine" he replied and Rosie called one of his most difficult investors.
She wanted to finally prove she was worth something more than booking events or making sure he signed the right papers or getting him lunch.
"Elijah I already told you-"
"Sir I'm calling to apologize for Elijah's behavior, he has insomnia and has been under so much stress lately we understand your concerns and we reason with you...."
Rosie rambled on making sure to suck up to the investor and Elijah's smirk disappeared when he heard "insomnia".
Rosie hung up the phone smiling "he said he'll review the agreement again and help as best he can" she said but Elijah was even listening to what she said.
"How do you know that I have insomnia?" Elijah asked and Rosie realized that she did mention that.
Without hesitation she took a seed remedy out of her bag that helped her insomnia when she was was child.
"The little things" she said holding the package up and Elijah realized the reason he'd been getting sleep was because of her. She'd been adding it in his coffee for the past two weeks.
"Its getting late" Elijah said pointing to his office so she could leave.
Rosie left the office to go home in a bad mood because her doll was gone. She must have lost it while getting Elijah food.
She'd spent months getting it because it was all sold out and now she has to work even harder than before if she wants to get it.
