"...but how would you like to go to the courtyard with me to see what I can do with this baby?"

As you round a corner in the company building, you spy a head of white hair turning down another hallway. Realizing that was most likely one of the employees that had gone off on Sinbad's latest trip with him, which would mean if he's back then Sinbad must be too, you chase the figure down and stop him in his tracks.

"Oh Sharrkan! You're back!" you exclaim.

With your hand on his shoulder, he turns to look at you. "Oh! Hey Princess (y/n)," he greets with a big smile on his face. "Yeah, we got back a few days ago. You won't believe what happened!"

"What?! What happened? Is Sin all right?!"

"Well of course he is. But check this out!" Sharrkan pulls his sword out, pointing the hilt towards you. "I've got a household vessel of my own now! Now the others are going to have to take me seriously!"

"That's amazing! Where is Sin right now?"

"Huh? Well, he's probably categorizing inventory from all the loot we gained..." He sheathes his sword as he closes his eyes and brags, "...but how would you like to go to the courtyard with me to see what I can do with this baby? ...huh?" His eyes open to find you have already run off.

You rush towards the stockrooms both excited and angered that Sinbad was back even though he should have come to see you by now. Just as Sharrkan said, you see Sinbad in the room, his back to the door where you stood. He's braced over a table full of items, studying them intently.

Taking advantage of his distraction, you sneak up behind him and place your hands over his eyes. His back straightens up.

"You're late," you accuse with a half teasing voice.

You had expected him to be back in Balbadd before your 18th birthday. That was when the wedding was supposed to be. And you should have been the first person he saw when he got back!

Still, the way Sinbad says your name melts your heart. He turns around and holds you around your waist as your hands drape over his shoulders. Smoothly he states, "Couldn't be helped. We discovered another dungeon on our way back."

"Another after the one you were going for? This makes six now!"

He nods, "It does. And this time, I got you a souvenir. Check it out!"

He turns back to the table and picks up a necklace woven of metal and gems. Your eyes grow wide in wonder as it sparkles more than anything you've seen in the royal family collection.

He continues, "Just like your ring you gave me, with this necklace you can know I am with you in spirit wherever you are!"

You briefly catch sight of your ring on his middle finger as he strides behind you to put the necklace on. He must have had it adjusted to fit. The ring next to it on his index finger must be new, as well as the long golden bracelet on his other arm. You wonder if those are where his new djinn are stored.

As he slides the necklace around your neck, you make sure your hair is out of the way so he can easily clasp it behind you. After it is on, he rests his hands on your shoulders.

He explains, "With this, one day you may even become part of my household. With such a vessel, I'd be more at ease regarding your safety when we travel together."

Travel together? Your breath catches at his statement."We'll be able to travel together soon?!"

"Of course. I'm a man of my word." He walks back in front of you and takes a step back, gazing at you fondly. "It looks marvelous on you."
