Paige's POV
I woke up and went downstairs.
" Morning Paige." Rick said and I smiled.
" Hey Rick, did you walk to jessie?" I asked and shook his head.
" No. I wanted everyone to have a good day yesterday but I assure you I will." He said and I nodded. I walked upstairs and into my room. I changed into some white shorts and a teal blue tank top. I put on my white converse and brushed my hair. It was wavy from last night so I left it.
I walked downstairs and saw Carl sitting on the couch. I sat by humans the lights went off.
" What going on?" I asked and he shrugged.
" Hey wanna hangout today?" He asked and I smiled.
" Sure. What you wanna do." I said and he shrugged.
" We can..... TAG YOUR IT!" He yelled and poked my stomach.
" Really!" I laughed and he ran out the door. I groaned and ran after him.
" I ran down the street and saw him. I went up behind him and poked his back.
" Gotchia!" I yelled and a man turned around.
" Oops sorry sir." I said and he smiled. I turned around and saw Carl. For real this time. I ran up to him and poked him but he quickly poked me back and i acted like I fell.
" I'm gonna get you Grimes!" I yelled and he laughed. I tired to get up and faked that my ankle was hurt.
" Ow! Carl seriously I think I twisted my ankle." I said and he ran up to me and helped me up.
" Haha!" I said and poked him and started running. I can here him close behind me but I was getting tired.
" Carl I'm done." I said out of breath and he agreed. We walked to the swing set and I sat down. He sat down in the one next to me and I giggled.
" What?" He asked and I shook my head.
" It's just... I wanna think this place is safe but." I said and and he put his hand on my knee.
" I know how you feel. But any place that keeps the people I love safe. I can handle." He said and I smiled.
" You love me?" I said and looked up at him.
" I never stopped. I think about you every night before I got to sleep and your the first thing on my mind when I wake up. it just hurts me to think that I'm the one who hurt you. Paige I love you." He said and I smiled. He leaned in and our lips touched. I took my by surprise but I kissed back. I missed his soft lips. He put a hand in my cheek and I out mine in his arm. When we pulled away I smiled.
" I love you too." I whispered. He was about to say something but we heard glass break and screams. We got up and ran in the direction of all the ruckus.
We turned the corner and pick was in the ground on top of Pete with blood all over them. We ran up to them and Carl tried to break them apart but Rick pushed him off.
" Rick stop!" I yelled and tried to push him off of Pete but he elbowed me in the stomach. I fell to the ground and Carl came and put my head in his lap. Rick started yelling but then everything went black.
