Chapter 7. Why me? Why....

Carl's POV

When I woke up I saw Paige still sleeping with Judith. I smiled and got up.

" Morning son." Dad said and I nodded.

" Morning." I mumbled and went upstairs and changed.

When I came back down something caught my eye. I looked out the window and saw Edin climbing out the window.

" Dad..uh... I'm going to go outside for a while. To ...Look around Ya." I said and he nodded. I ran out behind the house and started to climb the wall.

Paige's POV

Ow. OW!!! I opened my eyes to see Judith pulling my hair.

" Hey there." I said and she giggled. I looked over to my side and Carl wants there. I frowned and got up.

" Hey Rick? Can you take Judith while I go take a shower." I asked and he nodded as I handed him his daughter.

" Do you know where Carl is?" I asked while going upstairs.

" He said he went to go look around. He should be back soon." I nodded and walked into the bathroom.

After my shower I changed into some skinny jeans, a black tank top, and red flannel shirt. I slipped on some red converse and went into the bathroom again. I looked under the sink and found a blow drier and a straightener. I smiled. I dried my hair and straightened out my waves. I put on a red beanie and ran downstairs.

I walked out the door and saw Glenn getting ready to go for a run.

" Hey Glenn!" I yelled and he turned around.

" Where are y'all going?" I asked.

" Nick is showing us there way they do runs. But we're going to a town." He said and I smiled.

" Do you think you can try to get me some more clothes and stuff? They don't have a lot of things I like here." I said and he chuckled.

" Sure." He said and I hugged him.

" Be safe." I said and he nodded and left. I didn't really know where to go so I just started walking. I turned a corner and saw a small swing set and slide. I giggled and went and sat on a swing.

" Haven't sat on one of these In a long time." I said to myself. I really don't know what to think of this place. I wanna believe it's safe but... Something's telling me it's not.

"Mom!" I turned around and saw Lizzy and Mika running towards me. I smiled at the thought they are technically my daughters.

" Hey girls. What's up?" I said and they smiled.

" We wanna swing!" Mika said and I got up so they could swing.

" Push us!" Lizzy laughed and I did.

" Higher!!" Mika yelled.

" Not to high. Don't want you girls falling off and getting hurt." I said and they slowed down and jumped off.

" I'm hungry." They said at the same time. I giggled and sighed.

" Wanna go home and see if Carol will teach you how to make cookies?!" I said and they smiled and nodded.

After running and laughed back to the house we finally made it.

" Carol!" They yelled and she jumped.

" Sorry. They girls want to ask you a question." I said.

" Well what might that be." Carol said and bent down To their level.
