Chapter 5

Right when we got to the pack house, I ran out of the car and to Lucas's and my room. I ran to the bed a cried into the sheets. Lucas ran after me and laid behind me wrapping his arms around me.

"It's okay. Shhhh. It's okay." He said into my hair. He cradled me into his arms and I cried into his shirt.

"I hurt him Lucas." I said through sobs.

"I know." he sighed.

We sat there for what felt like hours as he kissed my head and I cried into his shirt.

"Please eat, Jade." Lucas begged.

I didn't reply. I practically cried all my fluids out of my body and I had a killer headache.

Lucas was now standing beside me with a tray full of food that smelled delicious.

He sat next me and said,"Please Jade. Please eat and drink something."

I slowly sat up and he placed the food on my lap. I grabbed the fork and started playing with my food. I grabbed the water and took a few sips of it.

I picked up some of the chicken on the plate with my fork and placed it in my mouth. It was delicious! I placed a few more pieces in my mouth before I looked up at Lucas.

He was staring at me, making me feel a little self conscious. I put the tray of food on a desk next to the bed.

"Thank you, Lucas. It was really good." I said looking down at my hands.

"Don't you want more?" He asked.

"No, I'm not hungry." I lied.

Right on time, my stomach growled.

"Oh really?" He chuckled.

"I just want some sleep." I said.

He nodded, took the tray of food and walked out of the room. I sighed and closed my eyes.

I felt myself drifting off when sparks erupted around my waist and throughout my body. I didn't even notice him come in.

"Goodnight Jade." he said.

"Good night Lucas." I said before falling into a deep sleep.

"Wake up Jade." A beautiful, melodic voice sang in my ear.

I opened my eyes and let them adjust to the light. When they adjusted, I looked to the direction of the voice and saw a grinning Lucas.

"Good morning!" He whispered.

I groaned and sat up.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing. What do you want to do today?" He asked.

"I don't know." I said, yawning.

Then I realized that I smell. When was the last time I took a shower?

"Can I take a shower?" I asked.

"Of course Jade." he said while smiling.

I nodded and got off the bed. I walked into the bathroom and hopped into the shower. I took a nice, long shower until I felt all clean.

I turned the shower off a wrapped a white fluffy towel around me. I walked over to the sink and realized I didn't have any clean clothes to wear. I walked to the door and stuck my head out.

"Lucas?" I saw Lucas sitting at the edge of our bed.

"Yes?" He asked looking up at me.

"Can I borrow some clothes?" I shyly asked.

He chuckled and walked towards me with what I'm guessing was a t-shirt and pants. I grabbed the clothes and mumbled a thank you.

I quickly shut the door and changed into the clothes Lucas gave me. It was a little bit big on me but it will work. It was a red and pink striped shirt with blue jeans.

I blow dried and brushed my hair before leaving the bathroom.

Lucas was right there once I took a step out of the bathroom. He wrapped his arm around my waist and sparks shot through me.

"Lucas?"

"Yes?" He replied.

"Can we go for a walk?" I asked in hope he would say yes.

"I don't know."

"Please?" I begged.

Lucas thought about it for a second before sighing,"Okay. We can go on a walk."

A grin took over my face.

I slipped on the only pair of shoes I had and waited for Lucas. He took my hand and we walked downstairs and through the kitchen.

"Do you want a drink or something to eat?" He asked.

"Maybe a water. I'll eat after the walk." I shrugged.

Lucas walked over to the fridge and grabbed a water bottle.

As Lucas was walking toward me, a girl, maybe a year younger than me, walked into the kitchen.

She asked me,"Are you Jade Bass?"

I smiled and said,"Yes. I'm Jade."

"Hi! It's nice to meet you! I'm Margret." she grinned.

"It's so nice to meet you Margret!" I grinned back.

"I guess I'll talk to you later Jade! I've got to get to school!" She said before walking out of the kitchen.

"I see you met one of the pack members." Lucas said walking next to me.

"Yes and Margret is very sweet." I replied.

Lucas chuckled."Are you ready?"

I nodded. We walked through the living room and to the front door. Lucas opened the door and the suns rays hit my skin. It felt so good to be outside again.

We walked down a path into the woods.

"It's beautiful!" Sophie, my wolf said.

"Yes it is." I agreed with her.

As we walked down the path, I saw animals such as, bunnies, deers, and squirrels.

"It's beautiful!" I said to Lucas.

"Yes it really is." He replied with a smile.

I smiled back at him.

When was the last I shifted into my wolf? I asked myself.

"Hey Lucas?" I asked.

"Hmm?"

"Well, I don't remember when the last time I shifted into my wolf was. I was wondering if I can." I said hoping he would say yes.

He scratched the back of his head,"I don't know if that would be a great idea."

"Please? I won't go that far! Plus you'll be with me to protect and watch me! Please?" I begged.

He sighed,"Fine."

I hopped in excitement! I ran behind a tree and made sure Lucas wasn't following me. When I saw him turned around where he couldn't see me, I took off all of the clothes I was wearing and shifted.

It felt strange to shift again but also good. I looked down at my white paws on the green grass. I looked back up at Lucas to see a big black wolf. Lucas's wolf is huge!

After staring at Lucas's wolf for a minute or two, I turn around and start running into the forest.
