IN WHICH,
draco malfoy is thought of.

Professor McGonagall,
Announced that the Yule Ball,
Which had last happened
in the 4th year,
when Luna died.

Luna Lovegood,
The blue eyed,
Starry faced angel
Who I'd fallen for,
That one person
who'd healed me —
only to break me once more,
As life slipped away from her,
Even as she comforted me
once more;
In sign language,

We'll meet again,
In another life,
My lovely Amelia.

And then I saw her
Close her eyes,
Giving into the hands of Death,
pulling herself under.

And it occured to me,
I'll never see such silver-blue eyes again.

I was,
And am,
A wreck.

Until I saw him,
A male version of her,
And I suddenly realised that,
Perhaps this is Luna
In her new life.

But it was not,
Because Draco Malfoy
Was absolutely nothing
like Luna,
But he protected me
just the same.

It's a bad habit I have,
Falling for people who help
And protect
me.

But thankfully,
Only few people are on the list:
2 actually, with 1 dead.

And the moment I read McGonagall's lips,
And realise what she just said,
I am absolutely
Sure of who I want to go with,
But also absolutely sure
That no one wants to ask me.

I don't want to go,
But Luna would've wanted me to,
And the last time the Yule Ball
happened,
I had my first kiss.
