Everything seemed to look more and more grandiose as Amelia and the others walked closer to the gala's venue on the ground floor of the hotel. Not a single nook or cranny was left bare; it either had an ice sculpture, a plant in a fragile marble vase, or a mere golden signage pointing somewhere. Amelia had to constantly stop herself from pausing in the middle of the hallway just to take it all in, including the incoming guests with all their extravagant wears.

It was a welcomed distraction though, but it didn't feel that way for too long when she noticed the armed guards posted almost everywhere on the floor. She almost forgot that she and her friends were stepping into enemy territory.

They had to be extra, extra careful this time or they'd risk getting hurt. Or worse.

Amelia felt her partner stop walking. The guests formed a queue where they were being checked by a couple of guards at the entrance of the lobby. She noticed that some of the guests up front were wearing masks matching their outfits.

"Masks? The Oracle never mentioned anything about this," Athena said in front of them as they stood in line with the other guests. "That little—"

"Hey, chill, sis. He probably didn't know about it, and it was an honest mistake on his part." Zeus turned to Amelia. "Right, Ames?"

"Probably." Beside one of the guards, Amelia spotted a couple of wait staff carrying a stack of colored masks. "At least they're handing them out to people, so that's fine."

Eventually, they got their masks and were allowed to go inside. There were several tall tables scattered in the lobby and they headed to one standing on a corner. A waiter stopped by, a tray of champagne glasses balancing on his palm. Zeus was about to reach for one when Athena shot him a glare.

"No drinking, idiot," Athena hissed from her silver mask. "You know you're not allowed to."

Zeus ignored her, smiling at the waiter while taking the glass. "Don't mind her, it's all good." As soon as the waiter left, Zeus groaned. "Geez, Athena. Of course I know I'm underage to drink alcohol! I'm just taking it to look like everyone else here, alright?"

"So. . . what's the plan for tonight?" Amelia asked, changing the subject.

"Spying," Athena said. "The Oracle told us that the Titan's leader will possibly make an appearance later in the evening. So while we wait for that, we split up and look around for anything that might help us know more about the mafia."

"Whatever you do, keep a low profile," Poseidon said. "Don't make any sudden moves. Inform the others if you found something important and that's it."

The rest of them nodded and they split up in different directions: Poseidon and Ivy headed to the fountain at the east side, Zeus and Amelia on the west, while Athena stayed behind. As the latter pair scouted around, Amelia slowly let go of Zeus' arm, her arm sliding on her side. She hummed a random tune before taking small steps away from him.
