Crash: my head snapped up from its place on Toby's chest as I heard a loud noise come from the downstairs of my house I looked around and saw that it was 3:17 am.

" what was that" Toby asked raising his head from the pillow his arm was wrapped around my waist holding me close like he does most nights.

" wait here I'll go check it out" i said giving him a quick kiss on his lips he kissed me back and let go of my waist and put his head back down.

I grabbed my robe of the rocking chair and pulled it over my body since I was only wearing a black tank and black shorts I slipped my slippers on and walked out my bedroom.

I walked down the hall I went over to the door with a bunch of cars on it I opened the door and checked if my eldest was still sleeping and he was.

10 year old Alfie was sleeping peacefully in his room hugging the soft toy replica of mine and Toby's truck that we got him when he started to love cars.

I smiled and walked across the hall to the door that had little footballs on I peeked my head in and saw my middle child in his bed.

Noah who was 7 years old was lying at the end of his bed but his body was the wrong way I laughed and walked around to him I picked him up gently and moved him m.

" mommy" he stired I kissed his forehead " it's ok sweetie go back to bed" I whispered he smiled and went back to sleep I shut the door and walked over to the door with purple butterflies on.

There lies my little princess my only daughter little miss Olivia our 3 year old baby I smiled and of course she was sleeping she's going through a stage of sucking her thumb and Toby says it's bad but it's so cute so I just let her.

I quickly realise that all my kids are in bed which means someone else is on my house I walk down the staircase and into the living room where I see a little light I tip toe into the room and let out a breath once k see who's there.

" Katherine, Riley, Bennet what are you doing here it's almost 3:30 at night" i said as I saw them sitting on my couch they had a blanket over their laps and they're dressed in Pyjamas.

" I'm sorry auntie spence mom and dad were fighting and we got scared" Katherine said and I sighed I walked over to them holding my arms out and they walked into them hugging me tightly.

" it's ok guys you know your always welcome here but walking here is not ok Katherine  you have a phone for a reason anything could've happened what would of happened if you couldn't get in wait how did you get in" I asked and they pointed to the the window  and I realised they must have wedged it open and crawled through
