Note de l'auteur: Here's a chapter! I'm not sure how long this book will be, but probably on the short side. 15 chapters maybe? Please enjoy, vote, and comment! Constructive critisism appreciated and advised! :)
Outside was a terrace, or maybe a landing pad. We were on top of the top floor. The wind and rain were furious at this height, and it took my breath away to see the city at a different eye level. I rushed to keep up with the others, now realizing that I had no possible way of escape. Stark Tower was a very tall building, and jumping off the roof was not an option. A small plane was waiting for us, obviously belonged to the military, but there was an emblem of an eagle on the side. Seats pulled out from the sides and there was a whole storage cabinet of parachute backpacks.
"We won't need those, will we?" I worried. After everything that's had happened tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if Coulson made us all jump off the plane. "Wait, can this thing shoot stuff? Are you all pilots?"
I noticed Tony roll his eyes at me. "Remind me why we have a third grader with us? Did you just randomly pick her up off the street to did some experiment on?"
"She's Thor's niece." Coulson stated blankly. Tony blinked, confused. I mimicked his action, and he glared, annoyed.
"You could just send me home, never see me again, carry on with you espionagical lives." I mentioned nonchalantly.
"Please?" Tony begged.
Coulson shook his head.
"Nice try, Sima."
Tony stopped wishing I was invisible for a moment.
"Wait, Sima...Simba?" I groaned and slapped my forehead. Every. Single. Time.
Leaning back in my seat, I felt the engine rumble to a start. The bird was in the air. Isn't that what they said?
"So why am I here, exactly?" I asked.
"We need to monitor your behavior towards different elements."
"Why? Have I been mean to the elements?"
"Can I please throw her off the plane?"
"You're the one who called me Simba. Maybe I'll throw you off the plane."I was feeling brave at the moment, but once I was beginning to be "monitored" as Coulson had called it, I knew I couldn't handle it. "Where are we going?" No one answered me. Another secret. Fine, if this was the game they were going to play, make her feel uncomfortable, then she was capable of throwing it right back at them.
I watched Stark's face intently, my lips slowly twisting into a half-smile. "Ms. Potts." Was all I said.
Tony's eyes narrowed at me suspiciously. "Why did you say that?"
"You're worried about your social media image?" I suggested, knowing the answer already. "St. Georges, four weeks ago. Won't the paparazzi be happy when they find out one of NYC's most famous billionaires is going out with his secretary?" I picked at my thumbnail, pretending to be uninterested, although I was pushing back laughter.
Tony turned to Coulson, jaw tight. "Can I please-"
"Oh look, we've arrived!" Agent Romanoff announced. I forgot she was even in the plane. The plane door open and I was surprised to see that we were outside, near the ocean. In fact we were on the ocean.
"Thanks, Natasha. Now I can get away from this psychopath." Natasha smirked.
"Did you have a nice date, Stark?" she teased. Tony threw his hands in the air, surrendering, before turning to leave.
"I thought your first name was Agent!" I mumbled. Suddenly, Tony stopped walking, and turned his head slightly, maybe thinking. As he continued on his way, I could almost see a smile.
