I closed my locker, shutting it too loudly for my own liking. I could feel the tiredness still in my hands from the gym class.
''You walking with me?'' Ruby asked.
''Charlie,'' I replied simply.
''All right,'' she smirked back, but before I could say anything, she was already down the hallway.
I wiped my forehead and leaned against my locker. As I watched other students appear around me, I waited for Charlie.
''You still here?'' Leonardo asked, walking up to me from the side.
''Go away,'' I replied, looking at him only for a second. ''I'm waiting for Charlie.''
''I wouldn't bother. It seems that he'll be spending a minute or two extra in the changing rooms,''
''What the hell do you mean?''
''Bye,''
Leonardo left the hallway, joining his friends. I rolled my eyes, turning to the way he had come from. I wondered what he had meant by that. I noticed that most guys from their class had already left.
Checking around me, I walked upstairs to the gym changing rooms and turned right. That's where the boys' changing rooms were. At first, I reached out my hand to knock on the door but realized how stupid that would be. I opened the door and covered my eyes with my hand.
''Charlie! You here?'' I asked, almost laughing, as I realized what I was doing.
''Natalie?'' a voice called from somewhere in front of me.
''Is there anyone else here?'' I called out.
''No, just me...'' Charlie replied in an upset tone.
''Can I look where I'm going? My eyes are covered-'' I said, continuing to move with my hand covering my eyes.
''Be careful-'' Charlie warned me, and I instantly felt his touch on my arm.
''Whoa!''
''I'm not naked,'' Charlie chuckled. ''just slightly preoccupied.''
