The joint statement announcing the engagement and confirming the pregnancy was released the day after Dispatch leaked the photos.

Hybe Entertainment and Park Management have a joint statement from their artists Kim Namjoon and Mika Park.

"We would like to take this opportunity to confirm that the news Dispatch leaked yesterday is correct and we are having a baby due next year. We are saddened the news has had to be announced this way.

We would also like to announce that during Mikas Reputation Tour in Seoul earlier this year we got engaged. This news had been due to be announced this week, but unfortunately because of the leak we have had to announce both this way and we apologise for this."

They had posted it with 2 photos Areum had taken after Namjoon had proposed during the soundcheck. Overall, their fans had taken the news well. Similar to their relationship announcement, there were fans who had taken the news badly and abusive posts on social media, so Mika stayed away from her social media for a few days and her management team kept a close eye on comments, deleting and reporting them.

It had been 2 weeks. Mika had barely left the gated community while Namjoon had been busy preparing for the upcoming comeback. He was leaving early in the morning and coming home late at night. They had barely spent any time together, so when Namjoon had a morning free, they spent it together. Namjoon made Mika breakfast in bed and then they went for a walk around the community.

"Here you go baby." he said, pulling her spare inhaler out of his pocket

"Thanks Joonie." she replied, taking 2 puffs, "This cold weather really affects my breathing." She added, coughing slightly as he rubbed her back.

"I know it does. I am sorry, I wish we lived somewhere warmer." he said.

"It is just as cold in New York, so even if I was there right now, I would still be the same, so don't apologise. I love living in Seoul so much, anyway." She smiled, leaning over to kiss him. "So I know we haven't really discussed any wedding plans, but I have been doing a bit of thinking about it recently." She added nervously.

"Oh, tell me!" he replied with an excited look on his face as Mika giggled.

"I know that when we got engaged, we both agreed that we would wait until both our schedules were quieter before doing any planning, but you and I both know that will never happen. One of us is always going to be busy, if not both of us. And I guess with little peanut here now, I have been thinking more and more about it. I don't really want to wait, I want to be married to you." She said, "If you don't want to, then that is fine though!" she added quickly

"Oh my sweet Mikyung, of course I want to get married to you soon. Fuck, I would get married at this very moment if we could." He laughed, "It is just with the comeback I wouldn't be able to help you with organising it."

"Well, I thought of that too and I was thinking that I could get things together, do all the work, organise it into folders and if you aren't too tired when you get home from work you could look through it and we decide together?" she asked
