t/w: mentions a miscarriage, talks about the passing of somebody. not angst, but very upsetting.
the day had moved by slowly. too slow. yeosang had vanished for the rest of the day, barely a figment of their imagination. jongho was unapproachable, as always. and san? well he had spiraled off into a bunch of scenarios about what he thought it could be that had made yeosang and jongho so angry at one another.
as his thoughts continued to travel far away, his phone vibrated on his desk, a shy smile covering his cheeks as students close to him turned to the source of the noise before focusing on the teacher once again. as he lifted his phone slightly to see who it had been, a slight panicked breath left his body.
jongho
we need to talk.
god. those four words always sent fear down san's spine, no matter the occasion for them. the power they held within themselves scared the daylights out of him and seeing them on his screen didn't stop the quickening of his breaths, his hands starting to sweat.
san
uhm okay. is this like a one on one thing or-
jongho
just meet me at your house after school.
well damnit. san wanted at least some answers to his questions but judging by how quickly he was dismissed it was something serious. which only worried him even more. why did jongho need to talk to him?
——————————
after sending his boyfriend a quick text to let him know they couldn't walk home together, san began a very slow trek towards his place, his thoughts running rampant. he and jongho had never even had a conversation, so to even be in a room alone with him? that was some new territory all in itself now.
as he made his way to the front door, part of him was saying to just run and leave. avoid this conversation. from the argument he'd had with yeosang in the cafeteria, it was something serious.
"ah come on sannie...be a big boy. besides, woo promised cuddles if it's anything bad or sad." after his little pep talk to himself, he turned the door knob, slowly entering. kicking his shoes off at the door and turning around, jumping slightly at the sight of a stoic jongho just sitting on the couch, emotionless.
"ah...jongho...do you want something to drink? we have water..and juice...and soda...oh i can order us some milk te-"
"san, sit." and he didn't know why, but he immediately did as he was told, staying a good arms length away from jongho. "i don't even know why i fucking agreed to this...agh. okay. do you have any memories from eleven years ago?"
san's puzzled face made an appearance once again. the only person he'd told about his locked memories were wooyoung, and his parents who knew of course.
"n-no. they're all loc-""locked because of a traumatic experience. yeah. i know..." jongho huffed out a breath before finally allowing himself to look at san, a pained expression covering his face. "before i speak, i need you to know that everything i'm saying is from my perspective. okay?" the small nod he received was all he needed before rubbing his face, starting to speak.
"well...i guess i should start by telling you we're brothers." although san look surprised, it soon faded as he nodded.
"i've been kind of thinking that...same last names and all..."
"well then. that's out of the way. it was december. a few days before christmas. when we were little...you were seven, i was eight. we uh, had a sister. yujin. she was twelve. you kind of remind me of her. with your mannerisms and attitude..." the dry laugh that left jongho relayed just how much pain this was causing him, relieving memories of his sister.
