the once warm and crisp air was now chilly as he trekked through the area, leaves crackling under his footsteps. his breathing was slowly beginning to even out again, after having decided to sprint almost all the way there.

he looked both ways a few times, making sure nobody had followed him before he unhooked the gate, the old hinges creaking slightly from the movement, his eyes searching around a few more times before landing on the older, halting in his steps.

yes, they had agreed to meet here but that still didn't make it harder for him to face him. after having gotten his memories back, he was sure their relationship was beyond impairable but the older had stated he refused to let it get even worse than it had been for the past decade.

as the young male made his way closer, a rather large lump formed in his throat, tears springing to his eyes instantly. the sight before him was enough to make him emotional, yet he felt he didn't deserve to shed those tears. he furiously wiped away the incoming storm, sniffling to clear them up but also alerting the elder in the process.

"you came..." the relief that crossed his face didn't go unnoticed, a sad smile playing against his lips as he gestured to the blanket, telling the younger to sit down next to him.

"guys what if he really is at home? that was a lot of shit for him to take in all at once, so you've gotta give him some time." mingi was quick to intervene in the conversation, his eyes flickering between them all as they collectively nodded.

"it's just, i dunno, weird. san would've said something, especially because he has his project for his speech lecture....i don't think he's at home. but i do think he's safe wherever he is." yunho had spoken up this time, a rather calm expression ghosting his face. they were all worried about the small boy who had suddenly vanished from their school, without a word towards anybody. none of the other students could recall seeing him either, making it even more worrisome for the boys.

"wait...what if he's with jongho? he didn't come to school today..." yeosang immediately perked up, having not spoken to his boyfriend (?) since they argued with each other. mainly because yeosang was being stubborn. so to hear he hadn't shown up to school either had him paying attention faster than when somebody mentions chicken. "d-did he say why he didn't come in?"

yunho shrugged, shaking his head no softly before turning back to the group. "if they both didn't come today, i think they're together. meaning san is safe."

"and hongjoong will let us know if he does come home. i just texted him, san's not at home." before the boys could question why hongjoong was at home, wooyoung's phone dinged. "seonghwa came down with a stomach bug during 3rd lecture so joong-hyung took him home." a collective ah left the other's mouths, a calm look settling back down.

yet internally, wooyoung was just wondering if his boyfriend really was with jongho, if he really was safe. he had tried calling and texting him, yet nothing went though, the younger having turned off his phone.

"yujin sounded like a fun person to be around...i-i'm-"

"san. please don't apologize. i-i spoke with dad...he told me you got your memories back...and he also reminded me that you were only a kid when it happened i can't say that our relationship will be fixed in one day, but i really do want my baby brother back in my life." jongho let out a slight cough to avoid letting his tears fall, staring at san with so much emotion the younger couldn't help pulling him into a hug, his own tears falling against the olders jacket.

a small smile graced his face as he hugged his brother back, soon clearing his throat and turning san around to face the grave sitting in front of them. "yujin, there's somebody i want you to meet...our baby brother, san."
