“Hey, what do you guys want to do after work?” Malcom asked

“We can chill at home” Tagoe shrugged

“Hey, is it cool if I invite Mateo over to our house?” I asked

“Yeah that’s cool, Is he gonna hang out with us or your just gonna make out in your room” Tagoe asked

“He’ll hang out with us” I answered rolling my eyes and finished up an order

Work ended and we cleaned up and turned the sign to close; which was perfect timing since Mateo walked up to me and hugged me tight.

“Wanna come to my place?” I asked

“Yeah” Mateo nodded; His face just looked so excited

We rode our bike home, Mateo held on the back of my bike and held my waist close; We headed home and Mateo sat down on the couch.

I sat down next to him and placed my arm around the back of his neck and sat right next to him.

“Wanna soda? We have grape and fruit punch” Malcom offered

“I guess fruit punch” Mateo answered pushing himself closer to me

Tagoe gave him a can and walked into the bathroom, Mateo opened it and started drinking it, He gave the can to me and I took a sip before putting it down on the coffee table.

“Hey where’s Francis and Jenni?” Mateo asked me

“Sometime they go do married people stuff like apple picking, see a bad drive through movie, or take him to the doctor for his blood sugar” I answered

“Oh” Mateo said

I heard a knock on the door

“I’ll get it” I shouted and walked to the door and opened it

My eyes went wide and I stood still

“Aimee?” I asked shocked seeing her outside the door wearing one of the dresses she wears to work

“Hey...can we talk?” Aimee asked

“I’m...kinda with my boyfriend right now” I answered not making eye contact

“Can I just hang out then?” Aimee asked

“I guess that's fine” I sighed and let her in

Mateo smiled at her

“Hey you must be Aimee, You look really pretty” Mateo smiled and took her hand and walked to the couch and they sat down and started talking

Huh, I was really thinking he would get mad at me for letting her in but he seemed so relaxed and buddy-buddy with her.

Malcom and Tagoe both walked in shocked seeing Aimee and Mateo talking; They looked over to me and walked closer to me.

“Does he know you and Aimee use to date?” Tagoe asked

“Yeah but I guess he’s fine with her being here” I smiled seeing then hang out

“He’s better than me, If we were dating and brought your ex over I would have kicked your ass” Tagoe said and walked to the couch and turned on a movie

Malcom and I shrugged and sat down with them.
