It has been several days since Natasha had her conversation with Connor. Afterwards, Natasha had gone back to visit him many more times, surprising both herself and Connor. During these visits the two would discuss anything and everything. Connor loves to talk about his family and the fond memories he shared with them, but he would never tell Natasha what actually happened to them. The female assassin didn't mind this though, after all everybody has secrets they would rather keep to themselves. Connor was a great listener, so this made him the perfect person to vent to when Natasha was frustrated with a mission. They also shared different things they experienced in the field.
Natasha was making her way to Connors cell for her scheduled 'interrogation' session. She hated the fact that Fury used their small bond in order to extract information out of him, but she couldn't deny that it was getting results. At first everything was normal and their...discussion went on like normal. However, the more they conversed with each other, the more Natasha began to do something she swore would never happen. She started to get attached. And now Fury was taking advantage of that "weakness" as she called it, to extract information from Connor.
"Romanoff, wait." She turned to see whose voice was calling out to her, it was Fury. Natasha wasn't oblivious as to how Fury was using her, after all she would do the same thing in his position, but it hurt a little bit. The same person who gave her a fresh start and a new sense of purpose, was using her. "Before you rendezvous with the prisoner, I need to tell you something." Natasha nodded for Fury to continue. "Well I need to tell you what actually happened to him and his parents. What has he told you?" The assassin let out a sigh and leaned against the wall. "Nothing much. Each time I bring it up, he looks away and shuts down." Natasha raised her hands in defeat. She knew that it was a sensitive subject for the man but a little insight never hurt anybody right?
"Natasha before I get to that I need to ask you something. Are you alright with all this...I mean I know how much you hate being used so just be honest. You alright?" Fury asked, a little out of character from his normal persona. Agent Romanoff had a smirk on her face and nodded her head 'yes.' "Don't worry about me sir. It doesn't look good on you." she joked. Fury didn't even crack a smile before obtaining that signature stoic face of his. "Agent Romanoff. Before you engage in another conversation with him, I need you to know something about Connor. Specifically his past." Natasha, who had already noticed Fury's serious glare, straightened up and stood at attention. "The reason behind his parents death was because of SHIELD." The redhead's eyes widened at the statement that her boss told her next.
-Onboard one of the quinjets which is enroute to the helicarrier-
Inside of the quinjet, Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America, was reviewing the files of the personnel that would be on his team. He got to the Hulks file and studied the tape and debrief on the raging monster. The pilot notified the agent who was accompanying the captain that they were about 40 minutes out from their destination. Phil walked to the pilots and gave some instructions before walking back to where Steve was. "So, this doctor Banner was trying to complete the serum that was used on me?" Steve asked for clarification. Phil nodded his head and stood across from Steve. "A lot of people were trying to. After all, you were the world's first superhero. Banner thought gamma radiation held the key to erskine's formula."Hulk roar could be heard from the tablet as Steve kept going through the file. "Didn't really go his way, did it?" Steve said as he swiped to the next portfolio.
Coulson is trying to talk with Steve but the Captain tunes him out as he looks at the next file. A picture of a man wearing all black clothes with two swords strapped on his back, takes Steve by surprise. He also has two pistols strapped to his legs and a belt with grenades and other devices. As he continues reading he realizes that most of the information they have on him is either redacted or hidden with black ink. This made the Captain angry a little bit, 'how does fury expect me to trust him when he keeps stuff like this from me.' Coulson noticed the file that Steve was currently analyzing and decided to hold off on asking for his signature. "Connor Kenway. Born in Florida. Disappeared after his mothers death at the age of 15. After that nobody knows what happened, he popped on our radar years later a 'merc for hire' as he called himself. We think he just enjoys killing."
