Connor was sitting inside of the lab with Bruce and Tony while the pair were working on finding the scepter. Other than exchanging pleasantries, nobody really said anything to one another. Tony and Connor had already discussed his father and how Tony actually knew of him. Apparently, Connors father was the only person who knew that Tony Stark was actually Iron Man, other than his secretary Pepper Pots, when Tony first started. The two would actually spend hours working on different designs with each other, constantly upgrading and changing the suits.
When his father met his Connors mother, he had to take a step back from all the 'hero shit.' The last time he heard from his father was right after Connor was born, a postcard from Florida made its way to Tony informing him of the child. After that, he never heard from him again. 'Why did father never tell me he knew Tony Stark.' Connor though to himself. Before he could finish his thoughts the pained cry of Bruce brought him out of his puzzled state.
"OW!" The assassin looked over at Bruce and saw Tony staring at his eyes. The pair just stared at each other in silence before Steve walked in. "Hey!" Connor saw Bruce look up and acknowledged the star spangled man with a plans presence but Tony carried on as if nothing had happened. "Nothing?" Tony said still addressing Banner. "Are you nuts?" Tony finally looked over at Steve in acknowledgment before making an off handed comment. "Jurys out." Both Bruce and Connor had a small laugh at Tony's comment.
Steve looked towards the the corner of the room, where Connor was sitting on top of some stacked boxes. "I didn't expect you to be in here Connor." The man in questioned stood up and focused on Steve. "Yeah. I had nothing else to do...that's not a problem right?" Steve and Connor glared at each other in silence before the tension between the two was cut with the most peculiar sound. Captain America looked over and saw Tony eating blueberries while questioning Banner. "Your tiptoeing big man. You need to strut."
"And you need to focus on the problem Mr. Stark." Tony rolled his eyes and turned around to face Steve. "You think I'm not? Why did fury call us in now? Why not before? What isn't he telling us?" Connor thought on this point for a while. He should be dead considering what happened three years ago. But yet here he is, alive and well mostly. Still, each time he had been around the one eyed pirate, he could tell there was something remaining unsaid. Each subtle nod or look Fury sent to Romanoff had confirmed it for him.
Connor couldn't help but feel like someone was keeping something from him. Lokis saying something about an experiment only confirmed it for him. The way Fury shut up was awfully telling. Also considering the fact whenever Connor pulled his gun out on Tony everyone pointed their own firearms at him. Granted that's a fair response but still 'The way fury looked at Natasha makes me uneasy. As if I should be worried about something.'
"You think he's hiding something?" Steve asked. "He's a spy. Captain, he's the spy. His secrets have secrets. It's bugging those guys too." Tony pointed towards Connor and Banner. Banner stumbled for words while Connor remained silent. "Dr. Banner?"Banner looked at Steve and then sighed. "Tony is the only name in clean energy right now and with that arc reactor, Stark Tower could run itself for how long? A year maybe. How come they didn't bring him in earlier? What are they even doing in the energy business anyways?" Banner explained his reasoning to Steve while Tony handed him some blueberries.
"We will soon find out every dirty secret SHIELD is trying to hide once my decryption program finishes." Tony says. Steve narrows his eyes and approaches Tony. "You what? And you wonder why they didn't bring you in earlier."
"An intelligence organization that fears intelligence does not tend to work out well captain." Alleys move to Connor who had been silent up until this point. "If our resident sparkler agrees with me then that makes it 3-1." Connor smiled under his helmet at Tony's joke while Steve continued to be processing everyone's words.
