Cronus' pov-

While looking for the doctor I heard a high pitched scream and then a voice that sounded familiar. "No! I'm not going! Let me go!" The screaming continued. "Restrain him!" Someone yelled. "We can't do that. Its against our code of conduct." I wandered into the room where the screams were coming from. "Put the blade down, kid." Two doctors, a nurse, and another officer were standing on one side of the room while a young boy covered in blood stood on the other side. "I'll kill all of you!" He screamed. One of the doctors saw me and he held up his hand. "Get out of here, son. We don't want anyone else to get hurt." I looked back over at the boy, holding onto the scalpel. It was Kyler.

I walked into the room, ignoring what the doctor said. I stepped in front of Kyler. "Get away from me! Get away!" I crouched down in front of him. I looked into his eyes. "Get away!" He lashed out with the blade, striking me in the face. I winced as blood seeped from the wound. "Son, stand back." I shook my head. "Kyler, its me. Cronus. It's okay. Everything's alright." Kyler looked up into my eyes for the first time since I entered the room. His face softened." I'm here for you." His grip softened on the scalpel. "Cronus?" I nodded at him. "Yeah, its me." He dropped the scalpel and crumbled to his knees. His body was raked with sobs in a matter of seconds. "Mama's dead. Dad's gone. I don't want to go away." I pulled him into my arms. "Its okay. I won't let them take you. I promise."

I made Kyler stand outside of the room while I talked to the CPS officer. "We can't do that. There is a lot of paper work that needs to be filled out." I narrowed my eyes at him, causing the cut that Kyler had made leak blood. "Sir let me fix that for you." The nurse spoke, pulling me to the empty bed. "Screw the paper work. He isn't going to want to go with you. Do you want another incident?" I looked up at the doctors. "Also I was wondering why was he covered in blood?" One of the doctors sighed. "He cut a nurse with a pair of scissors and stabbed a doctor with syringe and a few needles. He went crazy after we told him his mother died." I nodded as the nurse placed a patch over my cut. "You can take this off in about three days." I nodded again. I turned to look at the officer. "If you take him, it'll destroy him." The officer crossed his arms. "And what makes you think he'll be better with you?" I sighed. "Cause I know how he feels. And I won't let him be crushed in an orphanage. I didn't let it happen to me or my brother. And I'm sure as hell not letting it happen to him." I looked over at the door to see Kyler peeking in. He backed away from the door slightly, as if he was scared of getting caught. "Its okay. C'mere Kyler." He slowly walked in with his head down and his arms crossed behind his back. "Is there anything you'd like to say?" He looked up at me and then at the other four people in the room. "I'm sorry that I caused so much trouble. And I'm sorry that I stabbed those people." I looked up at the officer. "I think you can let this one slide." He sighed. "But what do you know about raising a child?" I shrugged. "Not much. But I took care of my younger brother for years without incident." I paused. "Well, until yesterday." One of the doctors looked at me. "Your the Ampora boy aren't you?" I nodded. "Yeah. How'd you know?" She smiled. "I used to work with your dad. Before he started moving around. How is he?" I shrugged again. "Alright I guess. I haven't seen him since we moved back. He stayed in Australia." She nodded. "So you've been taking care of your brother, Eridan I believe, all by yourself. For how long?" I counted back in my head. Eridan is three years younger than me and he's almost seventeen. "His whole life. He's almost seventeen." The doctor nodded at the CPS officer. "I think you should let this one slide, Sam." The officer, Sam, sighed. "Fine, you can take him in, but I will be at your home once a week to check everything out." I nodded. "That's fine by me."

(I honestly have no idea where this is even going anymore. I keep getting off topic. This isn't a story about Cronus, I know that, but c'mon its cute that he cares about a child like that. Anyway, please send your feedback and I'll see you in the next update. Bye!)
