Into the Fog

Cold. Everything felt so cold. Your skin was covered in a thin layer of damp sweat and a shiver worked it's way through your bones. Were you alive? Or was this death? You wanted nothing more than to keep your heavy eyelids shut and succumb to the darkness. Heaviness surrounded you and slight whispers echoed in your ears. Who was talking?
Several voices cut through yet none were any you recognized. Most perturbing of all were the screams. Long drawn out wails of horror were mixed in, never reaching fully audible levels. Only a few words shot out at you.

"Eternal life awaits."

Before you could process the words, a rolling fog hit your lifeless body. The smog seemed to swallow you whole and if it were even possible your vision darkened further. Colder and colder, your body temperature plunged until a sudden crackling could be heard. A small burst of warmth lapped at your cheeks coaxing your eyes to edge open. Red and orange flashed behind your lids and the first thing you saw was a night sky glittering with stars. Embers sparked and flared, reaching towards the murky clouds.
Was someone burning a campfire nearby? When did you even get outside? Did Ji-woon dump your body somewhere and leave it to rot?
Speaking of which, you were incredibly pissed about that. All you felt was disbelief and contempt that the idol you followed for so long tried to murder you in cold blood! Looks like he had failed.
Life was returning to your limbs and, slowly, you rolled into a sitting position. Blearily, you looked around and found at least 12 different pairs of eyes set on you. A gasp fell from your lips. Who the hell were all these people? Some of them looked like they came straight out of the 70s or 80s while others were from completely different countries. It was the most diverse set of people you'd ever seen in one place.

One male in particular stood forward from the rest. He wore thick, black glasses and had a messy head of dark hair. His white button up was bloodied and looked as if it had definitely seen better days. A stark red tie hung loosely around his neck to which he quickly began adjusting.

"H-hello there," he murmured, voice soft yet somehow commanding. "I'm the leader here."

"Where the hell am I?"

Somber looks rippled through the crowd. They were all staring you down as if they'd just found a lost, injured puppy. Such sorrow filled their eyes.

"You're in the Entity's realm. My name is Dwight," stepping forward, he held out a palm to help you up.

It was clear none of these people harbored bad intentions towards you. After all, if they were going to hurt or kill you, they would have done it already.

Taking Dwight's hand, you shook your head wearily. "I'm sorry, did you say realm?"

The male's gruff hands lifted you with ease. Nodding, he let his fingers rest against your palm and murmured quietly, "There's really a lot to explain."

"Oh it isn't much!" a mousy girl with a short black bob sprung up. Her eyebrows were pulled together in slight frustration. "It's only a death game for the rest of your life!"

"Death is not an escape..." a more muscular girl with braided pigtails chimed in.

You whipped your head towards each girl as they spoke, a grave look falling on your features. Realms? Death games? Clearly you were in a dream.
