Again We Meet
A few weeks, or what you suspected to be a few weeks, passed by and you were beginning to get the hang of how things worked. In the Entity's realm, most anything was possible. Perhaps the most intriguing of all was the sacrifice system. The whole thing really made it seem like you were existing beneath a twisted god of death. But, basically, you could sacrifice things you found while stuck in a game. With a few words and a small plea, the Entity would give you something in return for that sacrifice.
Of course, there were some things it refuses to give, but when it came to minuscule comforts nothing appeared off limits. After your third game, you sacrificed a tooth knocked from your mouth by a ghostly killer named Wraith. In return, you earned a home cooked meal just like your mother used to make. Not like you had to eat in this realm but it was just comforting to do so.
Jake teased you to no end when he heard what you got for the tooth.
"Are you serious?" He laughed boisterously, slapping a hand to his head, "For something like that you could have gotten a rare medical kit or at least some sort of map!"
"I would have gotten a new power!" a girl who you learned was named Nea, interrupted.
Tilting your head curiously you rounded the campfire and sat down on the log next to Nea. "Power?"
"Yeah like...like...!" she rambled excitingly before pausing. Bringing a hand up to her chin she hummed thoughtfully. "Well, it's hard to say. You can hope for something specific but..."
"The Entity only gives what it wants to..." Dwight piped up from beside you.
Jumping, you swiveled your head to look at him. You hadn't realized he was even there. Come to think of it, he was missing since you last saw him at the old generator. Jake, Feng Min, and Nea were the ones you talked to most though Nea only began speaking with you last week. You were about to ask him where he'd been when Jake butted in out of nowhere, sliding in between you and Nea. Both you and her gave disgruntled squeals and he rolled his eyes in response.
"Powers this, powers that," he waved his hand dismissively, "You just need useful items. Who cares if you can read the killer's aura or some shit?"
"Well if it helps me stay away..." you mumbled, a little perturbed at how closely your shoulders were touching.
Nea had just abandoned the conversation, moving across the campfire towards the cabins. Dwight stayed put, a slight tense in his face. You assumed he just didn't care for confrontation.
"Why don't you try getting one and see what happens?" Dwight suggested thoughtfully, his eyes watching you and Jake carefully.
Jake grinned, "Yeah how about next time you lose a tooth."
"Shut up!" elbowing him, you let a smile catch your lips.
"Ah, yeah, well..." Dwight only grunted, stumbling over his words.
A response was poised on the tip of your tongue when a sudden fog rolled beneath your feet.
It was time.
Pressing your eyes shut, you heaved a sigh and waited for the transportation to end. When you next opened them you were still face to face with Dwight. Crumbled ruins of various sizes were scattered all around and a giant temple towered behind you. This place wasn't familiar at all but that was to be expected. You'd only been through five games. Two at Mount Ormond, one in a circus, and two in Haddonfield, the infamous site of the Michael Myers case. Luckily, you hadn't had the misfortune of meeting him yet.
