Memories of Each Character.
Aster Desrosiers
"Alright you two, I want you to be on your best behavior, understand? No screaming, no running, and no cursing" said my mom
"Why?" I asked
"Yeah auntie I want to teach Ann how to say bitch" Ella smiled
My mother hit Ella on the head softly
"That'll have to wait, my friend, Mrs. Min is very strict about that," said my mother
"You heard the woman Ella, don't curse ?" I smiled as I waited for Mrs. Min and her youngest son to arrive
I already knew Mrs. Min and her eldest son but not her youngest. My mother told me he loved to play tag and such, I hate running so we brought Ella along. Finally, Mrs. Min arrived with a boy 2 years younger than me, about 9 or 10. He held a big book that looked way too complicated for me and Ella. Well, certainly Ella.
"Mrs. Min, welcome!" My mom came to greet Mrs. Min and signaled Ella and me to greet the little boy
I groaned but grabbed Ella by the hand and dragged her with me. The boy looked shy and intimidated by us. Ella stopped in her tracks and gasped.
"You're a nerd!" Ella screamed as she pointed at the book he was hugging
Romeo and Juliet? By some guy with a funny name. The boy frightened by Ella began to tear up.
"No you silly goose! A nerd is someone who wears glasses and is ugly, he's cute" I explained
"Ohhhh okay" Ella nodded
"I'm Aster, this is Ella" I smiled and offered my hand for him to shake
"Han-Haneul Min" Haneul muttered
"Let's go play, there's a park nearby," I said
The park was right around the corner. Even though we told our parents Haneul was very scared. He stayed inside the wooden house and read on the slide. I stayed in the swing while Ella hung from the monkey bars upside down.
"Hey, Haneul why are you reading in a park?" Ella asked
"I-I liked reading" Haneul struggled to speak
"But books are boring, come play with us!" Ella smiled and jumped off the monkey bars pulling Haneul.
"N-No!" Haneul screamed
Ella let go worriedly.
"I'll keep your book safe if you're worried about it getting stolen?" I said
Haneul looked down and nodded, giving me his book. I smiled and put it away safely. Ella dragged Haneul around. She encouraged him to try the monkey bars.
"You can do it Haneul!" Ella encouraged
Haneul nodded and reached two bars before he fell on the 5th one scraping his knee with the shredded wood pieces.
"Haneul!" Ella and I screamed as we rushed to him
We kneeled getting used to shreds of wood. Haneul cried and sobbed.
"What should we do?" Ella asked
"I think I'll carry him home? And clean his cut" I said
"Who should carry him?" Ella asked
"Umm you should, I'm not strong enough," I said
"Okay you watch from behind in case he slips," said Ella
