Warnings: none?

I quietly walk into the home that was shared between Lou and I, sighing and setting my bag down.

"Y/n!" Lou calls

"Yes?" I call back

"You're home." He excitedly runs into the room, a grin on his face

He hugs me, taking a deep breath and allowing me to relax into his arms. I finally take a step back, slipping out of my heels. I got home late, it was almost eight o'clock. I yawn, walking into the bedroom to change into something comfier.

"I made dinner." Lou says, his arms snaking around my waist

"Thank you." I smile "what is it?"

"Pasta."

I nod, following him into the kitchen. Over dinner he chats about the bands new album, something I'd always loved listening to. The way his hands flew up in excitement was my favorite thing ever. I help him clean up the kitchen before we decide on getting to bed early.

His arms wrap around my waist, pulling me closer to him. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep, and he always did so after whispering 'I love you' into my ear. I listen to his quiet breaths as he fell into a deep sleep, only wishing I could do the same. I close my eyes, waiting to finally fall asleep. But sleep never came and I lay awake and restless.

I turn over, burying my head into Lou's chest in hopes that the comfort would help. Tossing and turning for thirty minutes led me frustrated and exhausted. I finally throw the covers off of me, stepping out of bed to walk down the hall. I grab Lou's pack of cigarettes. The crisp autumn air hit me as I open the sliding door and step out onto the balcony, wearing only Lou's button down and a pair of panties.

"Y/n?" I hear Lou's groggy voice

"Oh did I wake you? I'm sorry Lou, go back to bed."

"No no, I came down for water. Everything alright?"

I nod, taking a drag of the cigarette.

"Are you sure?"

This time I don't respond.

"Bad day?" He asks

"A little." I shrug

"Wanna talk about it?" He sits down

I shake my head. He didn't push me to talk, just knew that being there with me was enough support.

"I almost got fired." I explain

"What?"

"Yea." I nod "Stephanie, the editor of the paper decided not to do her job right. So she minimally edits the paper, adding in some false news and information, and I got in trouble for it cuz I'm the person who does the rough draft."

"That's bullshit."

"Yea, so the entire rest of the day people are joking about it and making fun of me."

"I'm sorry y/n, I can't imagine." He motions for me to come inside

I follow him to the couch, explaining more of the situation.

"And then Justin was saying that the boss was gonna fire me cuz he was so angry about what happened."

"Fired? That seems harsh babe, I'm sorry about the stress." He sits on the couch, cuddling me

"It's alright, it's only temporary." I gently smile

"I know, it's still sad though. I always wonder what happens when your at work, seems like you work with assholes."

"Just a little bit." I giggle, yawning

Before I know it, I'm dozing off in his arms, dreaming about all the amazing times I'd shared with him. He was my everything, and I was his.

"I love you." He whispers
