You woke up in a haze, your throat dry and your hands cold. You look over at the clock it read 3:39 am. You turn over to see Joe with an arm wrapped around your waist, and arm under his pillow and his cheek squished into the plushy fabric of the blanket. You hated to wake him, but your throat was dry as hell. You slowly move his arm trying to be gentle and not wake him. You carefully get up.
"Hmmm don't go." You hear a groggy voice
"I'm just getting water."
"Fine."
You down half a bottle of water and walk back over to the bed, setting the bottle on your side table. You take a moment to admire Joe, his hair messy and his arm waiting to wrap around your waist . You smile at his cuteness. You slowly crawl back under the covers, snuggling up next to him. You feel his arm wrap securely around you, making you all warm inside. His arm relaxes around your waist, assuming he's gone asleep.
"I love you." You say
You and Joe had never said stuff like that before. You knew he wasn't the affectionate type and you just hoped he didn't hear you. You start to worry hoping you hadn't screwed things up. His head moves and he pulls you in closer.
"I love you too y/n." He replies, his voice still groggy and deep.
You smile. You fall asleep snuggly in joes arms.
