Mary wasn't looking forward to having a family dinner since she had to sit near Andrew, but at least he wasn't being abusive towards her mother.

"You look a little pale dear everything alright?" Andrew asked as Kristina placed dinner on the table.

"Yes, I just met the strangest guys today and I ran all the way home, but nothing to worry about I'll take extra care to make sure I don't see them again," Kristina answered.

"Aww you know I said I would always protect," Andrew told her. Mary took all this in and wanted to ask to leave the table but she forced herself to stay. She had to keep a close eye on her mother and no way was she letting Andrew be left alone with her mother. "So Snips, how was your day?" He asked her. "Keeping up with your classes?"

"Yes, that's how I spent my day...Dad," she responded. An urge to vomit about five times appeared in her throat as she said that.

"That's my sweet girl," Andrew said, ruffling Mary's hair until it was messy. Mary grumbled and remained silent after that. She tried not to focus on her bitterness as Andrew wasn't a mean guy but her empathic abilities went off like a fire engine as soon as dinner was placed in front of her.

"Goldie, what is up with the food?" Mary asked mentally.

"Don't eat it or you will have a mental block as well," Goldie explained. After hearing that Mary claimed she wasn't hungry and left the kitchen without saying anything.

"Mary!" Kristina called out. "Oh I hope she is not pulling one of my cards," she continued. It seemed like Mary was being a fussy eater and that worried Kristina since her daughter never refused to eat.

"I'm sure she's just being ridiculous, I'll talk to her but first I gotta make a call," Andrew said leaving the table. Back at the house, Shela had raced inside as she had witnessed some guy attack another and then flashing orange lights.

"Ezra!" Shela called out Ezra had been in his room when he heard his mother downstairs. "Come on sweetheart, it's time for dinner," Shela placed her purse in one of the empty chairs at the same time Ezra came downstairs with Ti on his shoulder. He wondered if his mother would notice Ti but there was only one way to find out. The minute Ezra saw his mother he immediately knew something was wrong.

"Mom?" Ezra said. "Are you okay? You look shaken,"

"Yeah I'm fine sweetie," Shela said. "Just take a seat," Ezra nodded and sat down at the table as his mother placed a glass of water in front of him and a plate of food. Shela sat her own plate down as well as a glass of water.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Ezra questioned.

"I said I'm fine, Ezra!" Shela said as she slammed her fist on the table causing Ezra to flinch. He had never known his mother to act like that before, especially when she had been around her family or even his father. As if noticing what she had done she sighed, she hadn't meant to yell at her son like that. "Sorry Ezra, I didn't mean to yell.."

"I..it's okay mom," Ezra responded "Did you see anyone?"

"I met one guy," Shela answered, now seemingly calmer. "But something happened to cause me to turn away from him," she continued. "Now eat your food son, I don't want you to go hungry," Ezra looked at his food and had a distinct feeling that it had been tainted with something.

"Don't eat it, Ezra," Ti whispered. "That's what's causing the mental block," Suddenly realization dawned on him as he noticed his mother was about to eat. If the food was what had been causing the mental block then he had to stop it.

"Mom, wait!" Ezra exclaimed as he knocked his mother's fork out of her hand and also her plate. "Don't eat that,"

"Ezra Muriel!" Shela yelled at her son and got up from the table. "Don't do that! You're grounded now, get up to your room!" While he wasn't too pleased with his mother grounding him, he knew that he had at least saved his mother from the mental block getting too strong. He and his spirit animal went up to his room where he would stay the rest of the night. Not only to obviously sleep but start coming up with an idea to save Darren and figure out how to get the mental block to shatter in his parent's minds. The next day while his mother was at work, Ezra had decided to go into town to think. He and Ti had entered the town and sat down on one of the nearest benches. Ti sat on his shoulder wondering if Ezra was going to say something.
