I ran away from home as quickly as I could. In a sudden, my home was tainted. It was severely ripped from my hands. As sudden as my home was taken away from me, I had to rapidly choose another dimension to find refuge. I arrived at a dimension that I deemed safe. The dimension were my mother was born. A planet with a continuous fight for balance between good and evil.
Earth... Is this place safe? What am I saying? I will never find peace thanks to HIS existence.
The dimension I was raised in was known as Azarath. Although Arella, my mother, was living with me, I was mainly raised by the monks and Azar, the guiding light of Azarath. Because of my parent's background, I was stripped from my mother's nurture and into the monk's teachings. Their lessons showed me how to nullify my emotions and maintain my powers. I was not allowed to feel extreme excitement, happiness, anger or any type of emotion. As a child, I was taught spells and how to keep myself calm through meditation. Basically, I was unable to have a regular childhood, or so I'm told. I really can't recall anything, not even a single memory, from my childhood.
Hilarious.
It wasn't until recently that I discovered the method of being able to embrace and show emotions. I had to liberate my soul from his influence.
Trigon. He's the incarnation of pure evil. He's my father...
Trigon, also known as Trigon the Terrible, was an inter-dimensional demon with a personal goal to rule multiple dimensions. My mother, Arella, was human. She was chosen by Trigon to be his wife, his queen. He manipulated my mother into marrying him by deceiving her of his true nature. Trigon posed as a good human that cared deeply for her, yet as soon as she shared the news of her pregnancy, he revealed his true nature. However, while in her pregnancy, she discovered a prophecy.
The prophecy foretold of the destruction of Earth when the portal activates and grants access to Trigon. The worse piece of information Arella discovered about the prophecy was that her child would be the portal that would enslave Earth. She fled to Azarath hoping the monks could prevent the annihilation of earth and its people. Many years later, Trigon found her hiding in Azarath. I know only a few facts about him disclosed by my mother as she ushered me to escape moments ago.
Trigon united multiple demons under his command to invade Azarath. His intent was to capture me. When he arrived in my home dimension, the monks ushered me to find my mother because she had significant information to discuss. When I found Arella, she told me everything mentioned before but added that I could use my powers to prevent chaos. I tried to ask more questions, but our conversation was cut short when demons began to flood the sacred halls. She placed a rectangular package into my hand and pushed me behind her.
Arella screamed, "Go, Racheal!"
Racheal?
As I rushed into my portal, I caught a glimpse of my mother's face. I turned my head to look forward at the direction I was headed. As I stepped through the portal clutching the stuffed envelope to my chest, I arrived at Earth.
Mother... I don't know how to stop Trigon. I don't even know how to completely use my powers. Besides it's in the prophecy. One day, I'll be the portal, but... until then, what do I do?
I glanced at my surroundings to analyze where I landed. I was in a park late in the afternoon. The sky was a rose pink with chunks of light orange. I could not see the horizon because many large trees blocked the view. I glanced to the right and noticed a bench underneath a tree.
What a beautiful place... yet the park is isolated. No matter.
I began to walk toward the bench with the intent of finding out the contents of the package. I sat on the middle of the bench and stared at the beige envelope. Inscribed in the center, the name Rachael Roth was in bold cursive. At the end of the name was a drawing of a raven spreading its wings. For a few seconds, I stared at the raven until I grasped the end of the package and ripped the seal.
