It has been a hard time in Margot's life. After coming back from Italy, she decided to fully devote herself to her craft. It was very unhealthy what she was doing over the past few months, making her father very concerned. She would wake up and write, she would take a quick break for some tea and some food then continue writing and producing until a song would come out. She recorded at least 20 songs and only chose 10 to be on the final version of her album. All of them explaining her summer, her friends, and her heartbreak. Her label was beyond proud, they released the album a little before Christmas and booked a whole tour for her to do right after the start of the new year. Her popularity was rising in France, she was slowly becoming more recognisable than her father which meant that the demand for her to do shows was skyrocketing. What Margot did not notice was the schedule she was about to endure once the tour started and frankly, she did not care about it. All she wanted to do was numb the feeling of emptiness inside of her and forget.

As for her friends and now ex-boyfriend, she blocked all of them just before leaving the village. She did not want anything to come over from Italy to France. She did not want them around her, she did not want to know what they were doing, for now...

March, 2019

Tour was in full swing for Margot, she was charting every week in France and slowly her popularity started to bleed out in the neighbouring countries, making her more in demand than ever. Tour was slowly killing her, she was overworked and spent to extremes, but again she did not care. Everyone around her was noticing the state she was in, but she kept pushing onwards and trying to survive one day at a time. She decided to give the band a little google search which she regretted extremely. The band was doing amazingly, but Damiano... he got engaged to the girl that crushed her whole world. There they were, posing for an Instagram picture, her in his lap with her ringed hand towards the camera showing it off. Margot was so quick to turn off her phone and throw it across her tour bus room that she cracked her screen.

Once she found out he was engaged, she started smoking cigarettes and drinking more than usual. She started speaking less and less to her father and her grandparents which concerned them a lot. She had changed her image. Her long blond curls were now shoulder length and dyed black. Her summer dresses and linen pants were exchanged for edgier and more sophisticated clothing. This transformation only made the fans and men desire her more. She had many suitors, not all of them staying long enough to capture her heart. On the contrary, she vowed to herself that she will never fall in love with anyone. She refused to step foot in Italy, she refused to speak a word of Italian. No one was allowed to mention Italy, and no one was allowed to ask her to go to Italy. Italy was the forbidden land. She was done, she was trying to get over it.

But, most of all, she was alone.

September, 2020

By this point, Margot released another album, making fans go crazy over the number of songs she had put out. It was something different that what she usually made. It was filled with different genres of songs, all of them of her singing in English instead of French so it can reach a bigger audience. One of the songs on that new album caught the eye of French media, selecting it to be competing in the next Eurovision song contest. The song in question was a song about "the one that shall not be named". After a few months of her starting her tour, she got a call from an unknown number which she foolishly picked up. It was him, calling her drunk, driving in Rome and begging her for her forgiveness. She just stayed on the line and let tears fall, listening to him as he begged and accused her repeatedly. All she said to him was "when I am away from you, I am happier than ever". After that phone call and after him getting engaged, she saw a couple of articles come out where he bad mouthed an ex-girlfriend. She went back to the phone call a year prior and decided to turn her life around.

Again, she changed her image, she let her curls grow out and dyed her roots green leaving the rest of her hair black, she started dressing edgier, started using social media more and decided to fix her relationship with her father. She killed the girl she used to be and changed herself completely for the better. She decided to act on her words that she said to him almost a year ago. When she's away from him, she's happier than ever.

And that, she became! She left him and his friends in the past. She left drinking in the past and she left her old self in the past. It was time for a change for the better. It was time for her to shine. And Eurovision 2021 was the right move for that!
