The day finally arrived for Margot to leave for Eurovision this time held in one of France's neighbouring countries, The Netherlands. It was only a short flight for Margot, but it still got her giddy about the whole experience. She was determined to not let anything ruin this for her. Her song was perfect, her stage performance was perfect including her costume. All that was left for her to do was to perform and win. A lot of people were convinced that France had the winning song this Eurovision. It was a perfect Eurovision song where Margot showed her singing abilities. Also, the fact that she did everything on that song herself boosted her in the eyes of the music critics. Her everchanging looks and hair gave her an even bigger boost with the fans.
She was yet to perform her Eurovision song live so she was heavily excited to perform it. Margot also decided to just go by Margot in her career instead of her classic "Margot Polnareff" which her father heavily supported her on. He was beyond happy to see his daughter flourishing and making a name for herself out there. She was on covers of French magazines, morning and evening French talk shows and had her name plastered all around Paris. It was a success that he wished for her, and he was even more proud that she did it all by herself.
One thing Margot was not looking forward to being was seeing him there. He and his friends were representing Italy this year. She heard their song, and she was aware that they were another fan favourite, but she was determined to not let him take this away from her. He took her heart already; he does not need this win. Also, she was determined to pretend that she did not know them. It was her executive decision that no one was allowed to change her mind on.
Margot and her team boarded her private jet, everyone getting comfortable for the one-hour flight. Her father was flying over for the finale which Margot was going to be considering France was part of the Big 5. Margot knew her competition and already had favourites and who will pass and who won't. She was a big fan of Eurovision, so she knew how things worked, what excited her now was to see the behind the scenes of how everything worked.
After a short nap, Margot and her team were in Rotterdam on their way to the hotel where the contestants were staying in. This whole experience was being documented by a crew, just in case for her personal use or if anyone needed it in the future. Her hair was being blown back from her face by the chilly May wind. Her roots were still green, and her end were still black. She was dressed in her signature baggy clothing, this time some baggy jeans and a baggy t shirt with anime character on it. Rings were all over her fingers, as well as chains. She was not a short girl, average in height but her baggy clothing swallowed her whole and made her looks smaller that she is.
Her sunglasses were perched on her nose as her and her team entered the hotel lobby that was buzzing with people. She noticed most delegations lounging on the lobby furniture or standing and talking amongst each other. She recognised a few of them. She knew her competition well. Her manager, walked to the desk, asking the receptionist for more information on accommodation and things like that. The kind receptionist asked them to wait for someone to come and give them a briefing on what will happen before they went up to their rooms. To say that Margot stood out from the crowd of different individuals in that lobby was an understatement. As soon as she entered the lobby not long ago, everyone recognised her green roots and discretely stared at her murmuring amongst each other.
One thing that drastically changed about Margot after everything that happened was her willingness to make new friends. She did not want to make new friends claiming she did not need them. In fact, she did not have any friends. She did not go out at all, or called anyone or texted anyone, but she understood during this competition she needed to make friends. So, she believed that having people noticing that she has entered the building was a good thing. Maybe someone will come up to her and greet her. Once getting away from the receptionist desk, Margot kindly excused herself from her team to go out and smoke. She quietly walked in front of the hotel where the smoking area was. Pushing her sunglasses up after lighting her cigarette, she observed the surroundings. A blond and a bearded guy came out not long after she got out. Both looked older than her. Another thing that was due to her choice of clothing was how young she looked with baggy clothing. She was still in her early twenties, but people have mistaken her for being in her teens.
