A week later,
Evening,
Outside a building...

Second Person's POV

A week passed and still no development in the investigation.

The executives weren't only busy with figuring out their enemy's true identity but also managing their illegal businesses. They had to manage their schedule properly and efficiently.

Hence, you were finally allowed by Majiro to participate in assisting them with Bonten's underground businesses. After all, he wanted you to always stay close to any of the executives. He forbid you from going anywhere alone.

You didn't do much, though. You accompanied the executives on mission, observed how they worked and basically acted as their assistant.

Manjiro wanted you to do close observation first before letting you handle the real deals. It was to prepare you for your future works.

Because being an executive of a criminal organization was a risky job.

So this entire week, you had been busy as heck as well. That was the only way to distract your mind from thinking of "Kisaki". Manjiro's method worked out perfectly.

You didn't think of Kisaki at all and focused on your job as the executives' escort or assistant.

Kakucho pulled out your duffle bag from the backseat and you took it from his hand. He stared at your face, sadness evident in his gaze.

"Sorry I couldn't stay by your side tonight..." Kakucho apologized. You shook your head, smiling understandingly at him. "It is alright, Kakucho. Don't trouble yourself worrying over me and focus on your job, okay?"

Kakucho hesitantly agreed. He had to attend a meeting organized by a politician -- who supported Bonten in secret -- at a nightclub. Though, rather than calling it "meeting", he already knew it was more of a party.

Knowing that the party would be held at a nightclub, Manjiro didn't allow you to tag along this time. He was still traumatized by the incident happening at your nightclub. He didn't want you to get shot again.
