Minutes before the VIPs came up to us, Il-ho went into the host's room. He stood in the door frame talking with him before shutting it. He turned over his shoulder and shook his head. Now we have no host? So how will this go?
He linked his arm with mine like we were together, and the elevator opened. In it held five VIP members. Each with a distinct animal mask on, and different suits. They walked up to us, and presented themselves before us.
I looked them all over as Il-ho spoke,
"Greetings, I hope your long trip here wasn't too troublesome." He looked over all his VIPs.
The one with a tiger mask spoke up,
"Where is the host?" I could hear his thick county accent.
Il-ho turned his attention over to him,
"He has some urgent business he needs to attend. He asked me to welcome you all here, and keep things going."
The man in the bull mask spoke up now.
"Really? I'd hardly believe that the host would miss a night like tonight?" He asked looking back at his friends.
Il-ho didn't want to be talking with them. He wanted them to be moving on by now. I did too, I felt an eerie aura coming from them.
"Everything will still go as planned. I'm sure what we've planed for tonight will exceed your expectations." He was certainly giving his staff and himself well deserved credit.
The man with the tiger mask spoke again.
"Well I would hope so, listen, I'm willing to cut anyone some slack, that's not a problem. But I am a difficult man to please."
Il-ho nodded, and turned away from them.
"Shall we?" He asked, they followed us to their room where they would watch this game play out.
Walking in front of these men doesn't feel right, they just keep staring at me. Once we got in the room, I was astonished. It was a jungle themed room, with what I hope wasn't real people as animal themed statues. But that excitement and curiosity soon flew out the window as the old tiger screamed out. Startled by the yelling, Il-ho and I and the others look and see what he's yelling about.
"No! D-don't do it you asshole! Fuckin' loser!" He screamed.
"What are you so worked up about?" One of the VIPs asked.
The tiger mask huffed and then answered,
"I put a lot of money on that dickhead to win!"
The VIP who asked looked at the number of the player he was talking about.
"Oh! How much?" He laughed out.
"A million bucks!" The tiger screamed.
The others winced at that. Another spoke up for the first time.
"What made you bet so much on 69?"
The tiger mask swong his drink around a bit as he tried to find the right words.
"Ehuh....it's just such a beautiful number! 69!" The others laughed at his misfortune.
Il-ho and I kept walking and he spoke up,
"You can place your bets before the next game begins. For now, why don't you all get some rest in your rooms?"
We lead them to the bottom of the stairs and stood there as they walked past. They thanked Il-ho and I for our service as of now, and walked to their rooms.
