Six

Vi and I made our way back to the basement, I could hear Claggor and Mylo bickering already. As we went into the basement they greeted us. Powder ran over to Vi and gave her a big hug." Oh, you're back!" Vi was holding in tears, it wasn't easy to watch. I myself was about to snap and cry, it took everything inside me not to. 

Vi reached for Vander's gauntlets but Mylo stopped her. "Hey, those are Vander's. Slow down, what's going on?" I answered for her. "Benzo's dead." Everyone looked at me in shock, except Vi, she kept her eyes on the floor. "Dead?" Claggor repeated? "They took Vander." Vi let out. "Who?" Mylo asked. "We don't know, but he needs help." I answered.

I knew whatever mission this was, it wasn't going to involve Powder, this was way dangerous. It's going to break her but we would only be gone for an hour, maybe longer. Vi started to break down, I gave her a tight hug. Everyone joined the hug except Powder. I spotted her packing her things.

I started to put stuff in the bag, Vi did the same as she told Mylo and Glaggor the destination. When we were done Vi looked at Powder and I with concern. She sighed. "I need you guys to sit this one out." My jaw dropped and my eyebrows furrowed. "Yeah funny freaking joke, you're hilarious." "I'm serious." "Well that sucks cause I'm coming." She let out a sigh of frustration, holding her head in her hands.

Vi didn't seem too happy that I was coming, but that's too bad. She then looked back over to Powder with a sad expression. "Powder, I need you to sit this out alright?" "But, I'm not afraid." "It's too dangerous." "But families stick together, you said it yourself. Plus Iris can go, why can't I?" I felt bad for the kid. I wanted to stay with her but I couldn't forgive myself if something happened to them. I waited outside the door considering I didn't want to hear the two sisters upset.

After a minute the boys came out, and so did Vi. "I'm sorry Vi, that must've been hard." "I just wish you would sit this one out too, but you're stubborn." She laughed. "I'm not going to leave you guys, it would kill me forever if something happened and I didn't help." Vi smiled and let out a tear. I pulled everyone into a hug, we stood like that for a minute before continuing our way to Vander.

After some time we made it to where we needed to be. We ran along the roof looking into the window. "Let's get Vander and get out." Vi spoke, as she climbed into the building. I followed behind, as did Mylo and Claggor. This was a bad idea, but Vander was my father figure. I needed to help.

We crouched along the small bridge. Vander was across the bridge. We all ran over. "Vi? What are you lot doing here?" Vi gave Vander a tight short hug. "We're breaking you out. Mylo." "On it." "How did you guys get in?" Vander asks, to which I reply. "It was easy, we came through an open window and- shit." Vander's eyes went wide. "You have to get out. Now."

"Welcome." A voice rang making my skin crawl. We all turned around, no one was there, but then Slico walked in sight. "You have my congratulations. But I'm afraid this will be a very short reunion." Multiple people walked out from behind Silco, they were all gross looking. "Have you heard the rumor? Vander the coward fled town with his children, and they were never seen again."

My stomach sank, I felt like I was going to throw up. Vi was putting on Vander's gauntlets, god she's an idiot. "Claggor," I paused, calming myself down. "Try and find a way out of here." He nodded and got to work.

"Vi you don't have to do this, you're gonna get hurt." "Yes I do." She started to walk away but I quickly grabbed her head and set a kiss on her forehead giving her a hug afterwards. Her face lit red, and she smiled. "When this is over, we should go out." She smiled, elbowing my arm. I nodded with a smile. "Good luck." She sent me a small nod and made her way to the bridge.

The man she was about to fight was twice her size, maybe more, but Vi's got skill. The man had a knife and struck at her, but Vi dodged it and hit a hard uppercut. I couldn't find myself to watch the rest.

Mylo was stressing, he kept dropping the lock pick. "Mylo, relax. You can do it." Vander soothed him as I rubbed his shoulder. I turned over near Claggor and he seemed to find a way out, he was hitting at the walls. 

I turned back to Vi, and saw someone mutating. That was not normal. Vi ran at him and jumped up to smash his head, which was not a good idea. "Vi no!" I yelled. Without looking he grabbed her by the throat. My knee's went week. Vander and Silco were yelling between the voices screaming in my head. I let out a sob as the monster threw Vi to the ground.

I quickly ran over to her and dragged her back to where we were. We closed the door and locked the locks. "Holy fuck." I sighed. I grabbed Vi's face to inspect it, she was all bloody and dirty, yet she still found a way to look as cute as ever. She took the gauntlets off and pulled me into a hug.

"You did good Vi, really good." I said, looking into her eyes. "Thanks, Cupcake." Butterflies filled my stomach, now was not the time for me to get flustered. The monster kept banging at the door making me flinch each time.

Claggor found a way out, there was a small hole in the wall. Vi and I were trying to keep the door stable as the monster kept banging at it. It stopped for a second. As soon as Claggor got the hole big enough and Vander was fully out, an explosion happened. It was blue, again.

There were three explosions, the third one hit me and everyone I was with. My body went flying out of the hole Claggor made. I landed on my arm causing a sharp pain to fly through my body. I looked up at the building as it was starting to go up in flames. I let out sobs as I limped away trying not to get hit with any pieces of stone.

Just as I was about to turn the corner a monster came flying out with a pink haired girl in it's arms, Vi. I turned my direction to them as I started running over. My body came to a stop as someone grabbed me and took me away. They put a rag over my nose and mouth causing the world to go dark.
