Promise

"Bro, are you okay?"

"I am not. I'm tired of being me. I'm too impulsive, worthless and useless. Parehas lang ba 'yon?" I chuckled.

"Hindi ko kayo masisisi kung maging kayo ay iwanan na din ako."

Inakbayan ako nito, "No. Hindi mangyayari 'yon, okay?"

"I promise."

You liar.

Tears escaped my eyes as I watch my bestfriend laugh together with his new circle of friends. He looks happier and free than ever.

I walked away, together with the memories we had before we ended our friendship.

He promised to stay.

But only words stayed whilst the person who promised.. left.
