Chapter 5 Really?

*Hayes's POV #yassssfinally*
I still can't believe it...a girl?play football? No! The worst part is she's replacing me as quarter back. When she made the team the guys told her welcome to the team and junk but then she looked directly at me.We stood there for a few minutes just looking at each other then she started walking over...OH CRAP!! "So.....I didn't know you played football" I said.It was really awkward "Yeah I have been since I was 7" she replied but I could see she felt the awkwardness too. "Hey by the way this doesn't change anything! I will still get you back for hitting my sister"she says "Okay" I reply. I was a little nervous now because she's the quarter back and I don't know what others will think but whatever. I go to the locker room and change then get in my dad/coach's car and we drive home.
*MK's POV *
"GUESS WHO'S THE NEW QUARTER BACK?!?!?!" I scream running in the house "AHHHH I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!"screamed Mary.She ran down the stairs and gave me a hug. "Hey where's mom and dad?" I asked."Oh mom's working the night shift at the hospital and dad has to spend extra time in training"she replied sadly. I nod and go to my room. I text Riley and told her everything that happened....she flipped! I told her goodnight, put my pj's on and literally jumped into bed.
******Next Day(Tuesday) ****
*MK's POV*
BEEP BEEP BEEP!!
"YASSS SO EXCITED!!" I screamed. I jumped out of bed and went to my closet. I picked out a red crop top,black high waisted shorts,my red vans and my black flat bill with #swag written in red. I do the usual routine, put my makeup on, grabbed my penny board and headed to school cause Mary was already there finishing a test. I get there and see some of they guys from football. "Hey teammates!" I say and they smile and nod. It was John,Mitchell, Harry,Hayes,Connor and me.The bell eventually rang and I went to math with Mitchell. We got off to a rough start
*FLASHBACK *
"Um sorry but cheer tryouts are over"some jerk said laughing "Well idiot I'm NOT here for cheer, I'm here for the same reason you are.......to play football!"I retorted. They all said okay and walked off.
*END OF FLASHBACK *
"So out of all the guys who is the cutest?!" Mitchell asked in a girly voice.I laughed and shook my head "None of them,I'm staying focused on football" I replied."Oh please, we all saw the way you and Hayes were looking at each other" "What way?! I DON'T like him!" I exclaimed "Let's just change the subject" "Oh that reminds me, we're gonna hang out tonight and we thought we should invite you since you're now apart of the team!" "That would be awesome! What time?" "6 o'clock" "I'll be there". The bell rang and class started. It felt like a life time but the bell eventually rang and I got up. I met up with John and we walked to History. When that class was over I had dance practice. "Heyyyy Bella!" I said ready to start practice."Hey MK! Look this weekend we're having our sleepover to start off the season do you want to come?!"she asked "YES!!" I scream "OMG yay! So I'll text you the details. Now let's go warm up."she says. We stretch and learn our new routine for competition in a few weeks. After dance I went to English ,my last period of the day FINALLY, with the whole football team. After 2 hours the bell finally rang and I raced out of the doors on my penny board and ride home.
*Skip to 6 o'clock*
(Still MK's POV)
They were all at Mitchell's house when I rode up.(Mitchell only lives like 4 houses down so I got there in no time)I was wearing some cut up high waisted blue jean shorts, a white crop top with "I live to play football" written across in gold,my chuck taylor's and my black flat bill with MK written in white on it. I knocked and Hayes opened the door. "Hey Hayes!" I said smiling "Sup MK?" He asked "Can I come in?" "Oh yeah sorry" he said laughing. I walk in to a bunch of guys putting shoes on "Hey MK! We're about to go play so football wanna come?"asked Connor "When do I not?!" I exclaimed we picked our teams and started to play. I just caught an interseption and was about to run when I was slammed into the ground....then I heard the worst sound I could ever hear
RIP!
"AHHHH MY WRIST!!" I screamed, crying in pain. "MK! ARE YOU OKAY!!" screamed Hayes. "No my wrist!" "Guys! Go get coach!" Hayes yells they all run inside and it's just me and him. "Hayes it REALLY hurts!" I squeaked still crying but he did the most surprising thing......he laid me in his lap and held my hand. "I'm so sorry MK it's all my fault!" He said I could hear he was scared."Hayes it's fine I'm some what okay" I said. A few minutes later coach comes out and says that we should go to the hospital. We get there and they say I have a hairline fracture,I'll have to where a brace and I'll be out of football for 2 weeks which means I'll miss our first game but they said I can still dance. They say I can go home and we leave the hospital and coach takes me home. I run inside, get a shower and jump in to bed....this has been a LONG day.
