Lillian's POV

This room is feeling very old. With the Mikaelsons and the Salvatores here, you could use all their years to count history. It's definitely at least a thousand for each of the originals...

Now, there has to be some world-ending problem that the witch bitch is including me in or I've had some terrible friends all my life. Do friends typically band together to save you like this? I don't know. My friends also would take my food and leave me at places I don't know, by myself. We didn't even get to the life ending situations and I was already disappointed by them.

"Lillian, have you been listening?" Damon's voice breaks through my train of thought.

"That depends. Were you talking about zombies taking over North America?"

"No, we were talking about the plan, where you-"

"No, wait." Kol interrupted. "Why just North America, darling? If anything, we know how diseases spread in Europe and how quickly everyone gets infected."

"You're not wrong. I guess it would depend where it originates from. If it starts in North or South America, the US is definitely a goner."

"But what if it starts in-"

"Would you two quit worrying about zombies who aren't even bloody real and think about the very real threat of our mother coming back to kill us and Lillian?!" Nik apparently had enough for our zombie discussion.

"Oh, says the the hybrid that really shouldn't exist." Maybe he doesn't know everything! Who knows, there could be zombies.

"Oh, I know love. I could only be a figment of your imagination. Is it my charm, my handsome features, or my inability to die that woos you?"

"The only thing you're wooing is my wish for bloody death right now." Rebekah's disgust is clear on her face.

"Yea, Nik. You couldn't woo Lillian if you tried. Her eyes actually work! If she wanted anyone, it would be me." Kol couldn't keep himself from throwing it back at his brother. I couldn't imagine how many centuries this argument has been going on for. No wonder they are always arguing!

"Would you two quit it! Obviously, with how smart she is, Lillian has a desire for more than just looks. I'm sure she would want an intellectual individual, instead of how attractive someone is." Elijah butted in.

"Are you saying you're the superior choice in the Mikaelson family?!" Kol couldn't believe his ear apparently. Elijah better than him? Hmm, who would be my choice?

"Well, I did not say me, but I'm happy that you see me as the most intellectual of our family, Kol. I'm just saying that if she had to choose one of us-"

"Okay, quit it! None of you will be getting her and that's final. Lillian is happy with us, isn't that right, Lil?" In light of all the arguing, I forgot to even look at the brothers. God, I probably missed some good moments! Oh wait, is that my queue?

"Yes, yes. I'm very happy. Thank you, Damon." I said with a smile. Not that I was going for points, but score! Five points for me!

"Great, now that we solidified the idea that Lillian is with us, which should not even be up for debate, we can get back to the matter at hand." Stefan was slightly fuming at what just transpired. Maybe it was good that Damon put an end to that. Letting out a little chuckle, the boys just looked at me and decided to move on.

"Okay, so..." Damon let out a frustrated sigh, "Your mother has returned back to the living, somehow, someway. Once again, might I say! With a coven now backing her, and wants Lillian. Besides the idea that she wants to kill her, or so we think, do we know the reason?"

"I don't believe my mother has ever been involved with something like this and did not have thoughts or intentions of killing whoever her eyes were set on, unfortunately." Elijah added. Fantastic, so death was imminent.

"Well, she's not killing her. Do you think this is another attempt to kill you and your siblings? Could Lillian be involved with that, somehow?" Stefan asked.

"It could be. She has hated what she has created for the last thousand years. Why would she stop now?" Rebekah couldn't help but to let the sadness and fatigue of her mother hating her seep into her voice. I scooted over on the couch we were sitting on to give her a half hug. Having your mother hate who you are cannot be easy. At least she has her siblings with her. Although, being daggered by your own brother for decades is not so fun either.

"You're not any type of supernatural, are you love?" Nik asked.

"Not that I'm aware of. The only supernatural I know of in our family is Caroline."

"No witches or werewolves? Or cursed loved ones?" Kol would be the one to question if anyone in my family was cursed. How many times did witches try to hex him?

"You have to remember, I just found out about the whole supernatural thing. As far as I knew last month, my sister was the normal high school prom queen type that could orchestrate a whole uprising if necessary. Not a vampire. Those were stories from my childhood. Lessons on why you shouldn't speak to stranger and never invite them into your house."

"Lillian." Elijah started. "Who told you these stories?"

"My great-grandma. She passed before I hit middle school, though. Why?"

"Those are some pretty good life lessons if you ever had a vampire approach you, love." The thousand year old brothers weren't wrong. It was like she was preparing me if a vampire ever tried to come to our house. Could she have known? Maybe she knew about Mystic Falls during Stefan and Damon's time?

"You're right. She must have known something. I'm trying to think about what else she said. Maybe she knew something about our family."

"Did she mention anything about you? Maybe about when you got older or who to stay away from?" Damon asked.

"Damon, she was my great grandmother. She told me I was going to become a beautiful and smart woman with a future so bright, I wouldn't be able to look at it too long in fear of my eyes burning. What else would an older person say to a kid?" I deadpanned at him. What did he expect? I guess it's been awhile since he had any older family talking to him. I'll give him the pass since its been almost two centuries.

"Well, it was worth a shot. Maybe you would have remembered something she said."

"If she said something out of the ordinary." Rebekah had to add a little snark at Damon.

"Was she one to over do things?" Elijah asked.

"No, she typically said things how she saw it. She wasn't one to sugarcoat it."

"The harbinger." Kol whispered in awe.

"The what?" My voice was the only sound in the room. All of the originals were stunned silent at Kol's words. Stefan and Damon stilled. They seemed to have known something about this. "Kol." I repeated again. "What is a harbinger? And please tell me what it has to do with me."

"You're the harbinger. The one who was prophesied to change the supernatural world. You have the power to end the vampire race, if you so choose. Whoever can control the harbinger has power beyond belief. The fates have placed their power within you."

"But I don't have any powers."

"My mother seems to think you do. And unfortunately, she's typically not wrong on that front, darling."
