"Onyx!"
"Onyx sweetie, wake up" a soothing voice whispered. Mommy? "Wake up Onyx or we will be late" Why can't I move? Why can't I answer? Mommy must be worried..The little girl tried to open her sore eyes, but as the burning light of fire hit her, she felt the dizziness returning and closed her tired eyes again.
"Onyx come on, do you really want to miss our walk?" a calm male voice whispered. Daddy? I want to wake up but it's so bright outside..
Suddenly the voices get louder and louder, more aggressive and disturbing. The girl's heart beats faster, as she felt a knot tightening in her throat.
"Onyx!" her mom now shouted. "This is your fault" her dad continued. "You ran away and now we're dead" Daddy? Mommy? Please, I'm scared! What's going on? Please don't shout at me, I'm so afraid-She starts to tear up, fear and confusion taken over her. Breathing got harder for her, as thick smoke filled her lungs, making her take sip from dead itself.
"Onyx" "Onyx" "You are nothing, how could you leave us behind" "you should have died with us" "ONYX!" her parents shouted at the same time, their voices ringing in her little head, causing a heavy headache.
Please stop..no more shouting! Please, please, please! That's when she abruptly opened her eyes, regretting it immediately as the smoke burns her eyes again.
"Ouch!" the small girl hisses, as she started to rub her eyes with her small hands.
After taking a few moments to adjust, Onyx slowly starts to notice fade screams of mercy around her.
When she lifted her head, the first thing she saw was absolute chaos. Fire everywhere. Blood. dead bodies. fighting people. Screaming people. Panic.Onyx took some deep breaths, telling herself to be brave and tried to sit up, just then she noticed something in her way. As her innocent eyes travel to the blood stained ground, her lungs seemed to stop working.
"Mommy?" she half whispered with a shaking voice. No answer. "Mommy??Please don't leave me alone!" Tears streamed down her cheeks, as she realized that her mom no longer lived. Laying in her own blood bath, her once warm green eyes, were lifeless staring into the sky. "No, no, no Mommy!!Please don't-"
The little girl choked on her tears and clenched her fists.
Realizing that she can't stay here forever, when the world around her was falling apart, the little one decided to be brave and look for her father.
"Please be okay..." she whispered to herself, after looking once more at her dead mother and apologizing for leaving her there. On shaking legs she proceeded to look for her father. Still not knowing, wether this is real or just a very scary nightmare. Her hands traveled to her hair, making sure the white hair clip with a black rose, was still there. As her fingers touched the cool metal of her hair clip, which was the birthday present from her parents, she felt a little saver and less alone.
Enforcers, who she called the 'bad people', were killing people around her. Sneaking past them, she slowly started to run, instead of walk. The fear of also loosing her father was increasing in her chest.
Tripping over her own feet, she fell over and landed on her face. As a little bit of warm liquid escaped her nose, she moved her hand to wipe it away and winced as the bruise started to burn. Don't cry. She told herself. Be strong. she told herself.
pushing her tears away, she got up again, only to get roughly pushed to the ground again. "Ah-" she winced, when her back landed on broken glass.
Looking up shocked, she stared into the coldest eyes she'd ever seen. "Where are your parents kid? dead?" A tall muscular Enforcer chuckled deadly.
Immediately she tried to crawl away backwards, her eyes widening when her back touched some sort of a wall. Dead end. Please, please don't kill me! I just want to go home.
She pleaded in her mind."Tch, Zaun trash" he spat at the little girl, eyes filled with disgust. Those eyes weren't foreign to her, but never before, they were this scary and threatening.
