The sun's going down and shadows start to stretch behind the glowing buildings of Piltover. Families laugh while enjoying their nice dinner at their nice table. It all seemed like a normal day, the foulness of the deep conflict between topside and undercity poisoning the air. They got used to it eventually, used to fighting and loosing, as well to pretending and closing eyes, hiding from the truth. Zaun carried thick air with it, as everyone tensed up by the latest events. The bad feeling in their gut, giving dark hints to the changes that awaits them.
In the basement, Claggor and Mylo were debating which weapons they'd pick, planning to make an attack. Behind them, lays a certain bluette, curled up in her bed, stroking the stuffed bunny in her hands, attempting to calm herself down. She was just a kid, but with her past, she earned the ability to feel when something bad is going to happen. her mind trailed between her two favorite persons, worried, since they were both missing since a while.
Onyx left in the early morning after awaking from her nightmare, yet it's getting dark again and she still hadn't returned. Neither did her sister, who left a few hours after her black haired friend. Suddenly a door got pushed open, revealing the pink haired girl, Powder's been thinking about. With a hurry she ran down the stairs, her face not making an effort to hide the determined expression in her grey/blueish orbs.
Before Vi could finish the question, that was about to left her lips, arms from her little sister slung around her torso. "You're back!" As Powder looked up to her, her relieved expression soon turned into worry, as she noticed the panic on VI's face, paired with a shaky breath. Without saying a word, Vi walked over to the table where Mylo and Claggor stood, trying to form a proper sentence.
"Hey. Those are Vander's. Slow down, what's going on?" Mylo on her left put his hand on hers, trying to understand what's wrong with her. VI's shoulders dropped down, as she finally released the information, that made her blood run cold.
"Dead..?" Claggor mumbled, his eyes fading into a hurtful shade. "They took Vander and Onyx." She bit her lip, feeling the heavy guilt, wrapping around her heart, as Powder's eyes grew wide and glassy. "Who- who took them?" Mylo's eyes showed genuine concern and worry, an emotion Powder thought was non existent for him. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all..
"I don't know who took them, but I need to help them." Vi stated determined, even though she was afraid, all her family could tell was that she was ready to kick some asses. That is one of her best qualities. Powder always watched Vi an admiration, as she remained strong in hard situations, like this one right now.
"You're not doing this alone, we're going with you." Mylo said knowing they'd stick together, no matter what happens. The pink haired girl nodded thankfully, before tears start to form in her eyes, failing at blurring the pictures she wanted to forget. The bloodstained window never left her mind, neither did Benzo's limp body. "Whatever killed Benzo...was nothing I've ever seen." She stuttered, memories flushing through her mind, making her fingers form fists. Powder looked terrified at her older sister. She'd always been the one to encourage everyone, what kind of monster is that thing supposed to be, to scare a tough girl like her sister?
"It tore him apart." her raspy voice, making the others flinch. Mylo and Claggor exchanged looks, agreeing that comforting the sobbing Vi would be their best option right now."They took them to the old cannary near the docks. Theg said-" her voice abruptly stops, after taking a look at Powder, who stood there, prepared to come with them. To save Vander and Onyx. I sigh left her lips, walking over to her younger sister, a heavy backpack resting on her back. "I need you to sit this one out Powder."
"What...?" Powder's voice was only a whisper, she's heard those words before, from Mylo but never from Vi. "You're not coming." VI's face turns serious, thinking she can protect her precious sister, even if her words might hurt her. Powder thought differently, though. "I'm not afraid." Her eyes meeting her sister's. Vi sighed and let the serious impression fall, putting a comforting hand on the little one's shoulder. "It's too dangerous-" "but families stick together you said it yourself!" Disappointment leaking from Powder's shaking voice. Her eyes were pleading for some sort of admiration. She could fight, they just had to give her a chance. Onyx needs her. She always saved her without complaining once. Bow's the time where she can finally do the same for her, but they won't let her, making her feel helpless once more. "I want to fight! I can help..". "You're not ready!" As soon as the words left VI's mouth, she regretted it. This wasn't what she was trying to say, Powder's eyes mirrored pain. The last thing she wanted was to hurt her sister.
Vi softened her face, wrapping the words in understandable tones. "You're all I have left." She continued. "I can't loose you." Her hand rested on Powders cheek, comforting her, as much as she can. Powder soothed against her sisters reassurance, closing her eyes. If something goes wrong, this may be the last time she could feel her sisters warmth.
Vi knew she couldn't leave her all alone with nothing, so she took an object out of her pocket. "Here. If they come for you, take this and run. Wherever you are, light it up and I'll find you. I promise." Lastly she leaned her head on top of Powder's, praying that she'll be fine, until they return. With Vander and Onyx. And with that the door shut, leaving Powder alone in the darkness, once more.

Meanwhile Viktor and Jayce:"Time to crank it." Viktor announce, shutting the science partner's notes. "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Jayce asked Viktor after placing the crystal on the mechanism. Viktors eyes travel around awkwardly, successfully ignoring his question, as he took a closer look at what's happening. His finger traces along the table, pressing a button who set off the mechanism. Both scientists looked at each other with a look that said 'so good so far', before examining the now hovering crystal. Blue lights emerged from it, reminding Jayce of the explosion that got him into this mess, so he turned to Viktor who seemed to sense his uneasy mess. "The resonance will stabilize it. Trust me." Viktor stated, his eyes never leaving their experiment. The sounds got louder and the crystal seemed to make connections between materials, bonding with objects, until suddenly unsteady waves hit the two man. "Turn it off!" Jayce was about to reach the button, as a small explosion shattered the windows and for quite a second, the time seemed to stand still. Both scientists were left in a raw fascination, but that was ruined by hundreds of glass splitters flying over to them. Covering their heads, Jayce somehow managed to reach the button and shut the experiment down. With only a small scratch left in his cheek, he turned to Viktor who shared the same expression as him. "Incredible."

Back in the basement:Tears streamt down Powder's already stained cheeks, as she her mind kept repeating how useless she truly is and how she let down the only person who ever truly believed in her. Wailing on her bed, she ripped apart her monkey bomb, which never successfully worked. Hitting the ground, the monkey started ticking, the sound ringing in the young girl's head. Loud enough to make her go insane but too quiet to shut up the voices in her head. All the sound seemed to get louder every second, echoing as one hell of a melody. The bluette panicky clutches her head with her hand, elbows leaned on her knees for support. Wet spots were soaking a lake of salty liquid on her clothing, but the girls mind was everywhere but in this terribly empty basement. A painful scream left her throat, after hitting her head with her fists. She furiously looked around and ended up with a chest held over her head, ready to smash her ticking monkey bomb, to finally stop the stupid sound. Suddenly the bomb stopped working from itself. Like always. She fell to the ground, breathing heavily and dropping the chest, she once held over her head. While falling, the chest opened and let a bunch of blue shimmering crystals hit the ground. Kneeling on the ground, powder looked up, only for her sore eyes to get hit my the realization, that the blue sparks that emerged from those unknown crystals, is the same that she saw at the explosion in the apartment.
"I can help them."
