Scene I

Toby: Last day of school, here I come!

Jeff: Ash, we're gonna drop you and Toby off on our way, okay? You ready?

Kate: I'll be there in a minute.

Jeff: Okay. C'mon, Tobes. Oh! Working the muscles I see! Don't be such a girly boy! Come with me!

(Ashley laughing)

Kate: Oh, here's Mrs. Wren's number, in case you need anything.

Ashley: Stop worrying. Toby and I are gonna be fine. You're just going overnight.

Kate: I know. I'm being a mother. Okay, so, um, tonight you're going-

Ashley: I know. One friend over each, and no parties. I heard.

Kate: Good for you for being so responsible. That's great.

Scene II

Mrs. Kwan: "The student I'll never forget, even after years and years of therapy." Who could that be?

Spinner: I'll never forget you either, Mrs. Kwan.

Mrs. Kwan: Have a good break, Mr. Mason.

Mr. Simpson: Well, what can I say? It's been great teaching all of you. Emma?

Emma: We're going to miss you too, Mr. Simpson. So, look at the screen.

Manny: See the present icon? Click it.

Class on computer: Thank you, Mr Simpson! You rock! Mr. Media! Woo-hoo!

Mr. Simpson: This is incredible.

Mrs. Kwan: This one needs no explanation. "The student of all students." Drum roll, please. Ashley Kerwin.

Ashley: Thanks, Mrs. Kwan.

Mrs. Kwan: I'm gonna miss you!

Ashley: "The student of all students"? That is so lame.

Terri: I think it's sweet.

Mrs. Kwan: The next award is for Dave because he puts the capital "G" in "Good student."

Mr. Simpson: You're dancing fools. Okay, go clean out your lockers. And have a great, safe vacation.

Liberty: Bye, Mr. Simpson.

Mr. Simpson: Adios.

Manny: Ciao, Mr. Simpson!

Mr. Simpson: Bye-bye!

Scene III

Paige: Wow. The Kerwin-Isaacs prison. What's Jimmy gonna say when he finds out?

Jimmy: Finds out what?

Ashley: That I can only have one friend over tonight.

Paige: And she invited Terri. Not you. Or me.

Jimmy: Oh. Okay.

Ashley: I thought you'd be upset.

Jimmy: Rules are rules, right? We'll do something tomorrow.

Ashley: Okay, am I missing something here?

Paige: Oh, just the chance to hang out with me and have way too much fun.

Ashley: Paige, if you really wanna come over, come over. Whatever.

Scene IV

J.T.: So, girls, what are your plans for this very momentous eve?

Emma: Girls' night at my place. Meaning no boys allowed. Especially boys named Sean.

Toby: Maybe she's learned that bad boys only lead to heartache.

J.T.: And now she's looking for a good boy? One named Toby? Not likely. What you need is a new approach. Sean's approach. Hey, Sean. Toby here's having the boys over tonight, to play some cards, talk girls, guy stuff. Wanna come?

Sean: No.

J.T.: You know, Emma's gonna be there.

Sean: Emma?

Toby: Um, yeah. We're-

J.T.: Having the girls over. Later.

Sean: Okay.

Toby: Are you insane?!

J.T.: After tonight's little tutoring session, Emma will be all yours. Trust me.

Scene V

Ashley: Do you think Jimmy's reaction was weird? About tonight?

Terri: No. I think he was just trying to be a good boyfriend.

Ashley: A good boyfriend would want to come over no matter what. My parents are away. He should- Never mind.

Terri: Anyway, I thought you were, you know, cooling on him.

Ashley: Exactly the opposite. After you've been going out for awhile, things get deeper.

Terri: Oh.

Ashley: Unless he's cooling on me.

Terri: I don't think that's how it is.

Scene VI

Ashley: Ahem.

Paige: Okay. Before you go all parental on me, I forgot. Hazel and I had plans tonight. I didn't think it would be a problem.

Ashley: No, it's fine.

(smashing sounds in the garage)

Toby: Ash?

Ashley: Okay, I know Mom and Jeff said only one friend each-

J.T.: But nothing, Ashley. It's our pleasure to share this fine evening with such lovely young ladies.

Paige: Did that thing just wink at me?
