"What?!" Ada yelled Turns out the ball Scotty brought back to the sandlot was a ball signed by the Babe Ruth
As the eight boys were looking over the fence for the ball, Ada stood in front of Scotty with shock written all over her face
She never had a Bane Ruth ball, her dad did, but he hid it knowing she would try to touch it But she wasn't dumb enough to play with it, let along bringing it to the sandlot!
The boys screaming brought Ada's attention over to them as they ran towards where they stood the moment before
"The beast got it!" Squints yelled "You're dead as a doorknob Smalls" Timmy breathed out "Your dead as a doorknob Smalls" Tommy repeated
Scotty looked around at the nine other kids standing in front of him with distraught facial expressions
"So, your telling me, you had a ball signed by Babe Ruth, and actually brought it out here, and actually played with it?" Ada raised her voice the slightest as shock was written all over her face
"Yeah, you kept telling me that, Who is she?" Scotty asked
Everyone fell silent at the Smalls boy question Who didn't know who Babe Ruth was?
"What?" Ham was the first to break the silence
"What" Now Bertram
"The sultan of Swat" Kenny said "Titan of Terror" Squints added "The king of crash" Timmy said "The king of crash!" Tommy repeated "The great bambino!" Ham yelled even louder
Right then, a lightbulb popped above Scotty head as he remembered that same term "What?! You mean that's the same guy?!"
"Yeah, did you not know that?" Ada asked making Scotty's head turn to her
"Smalls," Benny started, "Babe Ruth is the best baseball player that has ever lived, that ball is worth, well, more than your whole life man" Benny signed
Scotty fell to his knees holding his stomach "Oh I'm gonna be sick"
"Fan him, fan him" Everyone took off they're caps as Ada stood behind Scotty rubbing his back to make him feel better
A sense of jealousy came across Benny as he watched Ada push Scottys hair and continued to rub his back
"We have to get that ball back" Scotty said standing up before Ada walked over to Benny leaning her head on his shoulder
"Alright we'll, round up all the money you got and meet at Vincent's, we got a ball to save" Benny instructed
Everyone cheered making they're way out of the sandlot to find money
