Rayla is in class taking notes on Japanese history while listening to her Japanese history teacher, Mr. Chikyu, mid-morning. Mr. Chikyu has short silver hair and brown eyes, he is wearing a white shirt with a green tie and grey dress pants with black loafers. He asks Rayla, "Who is responsible for the death of Oda Nobunaga?" and Rayla stands up and tells him, "It was Akechi Mitsuhide I believe". He replies, "That is correct, it was the actions of Mitsuhide that led Nobunaga to commit seppuku", and Rayla sits back down.
At lunch time, Rayla decides to leave class to eat lunch by herself for once but is stopped by Minoru and Ryan who both ask to have lunch with her. She says, "I have been surrounded by you two and the others a lot lately so I want to eat lunch on my own today, and Minoru don't follow me, I want a quite lunch just this once". Minoru says, "Okay Rayla-sama but please come right back to class after lunch", and Rayla says, "Sure thing Minoru-kun".
As she eats her lunch on the school roof, which is rice with fried chicken and pickled vegetables, she thinks about everything that has happened in the last three weeks since she awakened as a beast. She thinks about the new friends she has in Minoru, Ryan, and Junji, as well finding out that Hanako is a beast. She says to herself, "Well as long as everyone is happy, I guess that is what matters most. For now, I should avoid turning anyone else into a beast as best I can, I will try to be more careful not to kiss anyone". She then finishes eating her food.
After lunch, Rayla is heading down the stairs and about to pass by Mr. Chikyu when she misses a step and trips, causing her to crash right on to her teacher and they both fall down the stairs, as they fall their lips touch for a brief moment. When they reach the ground, they both are rattled but uninjured. My. Chikyu stands up first and helps Rayla get up, he asks her, "Are you okay Himeakari-san?" and she tells, "Yes I am, are you okay?" He says, "Now that you mention it, I feel fine after such a tumble as that, weird".
She suddenly realizes that their lips touched while they were falling and asks him, "Are you really feeling okay Chikyu-sensei?" He tells her, "I already told you I was fine, why keep asking?" and she tells him, "I think our lips touched as we fell, I am pretty sure that would count as a kiss, right?" He says, "If you're worried about my job, no need to worry, the school wouldn't fire me over something that was a complete accident", and she replies, "I'm not worried about your job, when people kiss me, something bad will happen to them, it will probably happen to you too". He tells her, "If you're superstitious, no need to worry, I have a rabbit's foot on me", and she says, "I'm not talking about bad luck or misfortune, people are no longer human when they kiss me Chikyu-Sensei".
He says, "Himeakari-san, I think you have been watching too much anime, kissing someone doesn't do anything more negative than increase the chance of catching of an illness", and Rayla says, "I don't even watch anime, I prefer American cartoons anyway. But that's not the point, I am not being delusional, I am telling you the honest truth". He says, "I am taking you to the nurses office if you keep on-_", when suddenly starts clutching his chest with hands in pain as he is enveloped in a bright light. When the light dies down, his hair is longer and he has elf ears, he is wearing a yellow wizards robe, capelet, and hat covered with gemstones, and he is holding a wooden staff with a gold crystal.
He says, "What the heck am I wearing? Why am I dressed like a wizard out of a JRPG?" and Rayla says, "This is what I was trying to warn you about, when I kiss people, they become beasts who are contracted to me". He ask, "What is a beast? And how come you can turn people into them?" and she tells him, "A beast is a being with special abilities who fight monsters from another world, and I can turn normal people into beasts because I am an imperial beast". He says, "This has got to be a dream, magic and monsters don't exist, I have just been playing too many JRPGs lately", and she says, "Chikyu-sensei, this is not a dream, this is reality".
He says, "There is no way this is reality, I must have fallen unconscious when I fell down the stairs, I will pinch myself and prove it is just a dream", and pinches himself hard, he says, "Ouch that hurts, so this isn't a dream after all". Rayla tells him, "I told you this wasn't a dream, now do you believe everything I said", and he replies, "Yes I do, sorry for doubting you, but this is still difficult to believe, am I really no longer human?" She tells him, "Yes, technically beasts are both human and not human at the same time, we have longer lifespans and special abilities unlike normal humans from what I know". Mr. Chikyu says, "That's fine I guess, but how do I turn back to normal", and Rayla says, "Focus on your human form and concentrate, That's how it goes I think". He says, "Ok got it", and through focus and concentration is able to turn back to his human form. He says, "Now that I'm back to normal, I have a class to teach, Himeakari-San meet me after class in my office and explain more about the situation", and Rayla says, "Sure thing Chikyu-Sensei", she then heads back to class.
After class, Rayla grabs Minoru and brings him to the Mr. Chikyu's office, Mr. Chikyu lets them in and says, "So why did you bring Mahōkishi-kun?" She tells him, "I have only been a beast for a little while, everything I learned about being a beast is from him, he also claims to be my servant for life, so he can also be really annoying". Mr. Chikyu asks, "Mahōkishi-kun, are you also a beast?" and Minoru tells him, "Yes I am, my ancestors signed an eternal contract to serve the Himeakari family always. The contract between my family and hers is different from the contract between you and Rayla-sama". Mr. Chikyu asks, "What is this about a contract?" and Minoru tells him, "When you accidently kissed Rayla-sama earlier, you and her formed a contract in exchange for becoming a beast".
Mr. Chikyu asks, "Does the contract have anything negative like it would in an JRPG?" and Minoru says, "It's not that bad, as long as you don't do anything to hurt Rayla-sama, you will be fine, if you do anything hurt or do anything negative to Rayla-sama, you feel sick, have a headache, or both". Mr. Chikyu says, "That's reliving to know, I was worried about a situation right out of an erotic JRPG", and Rayla says, "Even if I could do that, I wouldn't use my powers in that way". Minoru then asks, "Chikyu-Sensei Can I take a look at your beast stats using my powers?", and Mr. Chikyu says, "Sure thing, I want to know what my powers as a beast are".
Minoru says, "Xìnxī píngmù", as he waves his hand over Mr. Chikyu, which brings up a screen. He takes a look at the screen and puts it away, he then says, "Chikyu-sensei is a noble beast who can control earthquakes, gemstones, and metal as well being able to use beast perception, meaning he can tell what a Cladis next move is". Mr. Chikyu says, "Wow I am sure powerful, I hope I can live up to my powers in battle". Minoru then says, "I think you should move into Maison Rozu Chikyu-Sensei, it would be safer for you and those you care about". Rayla is about to say something when Mr. Chikyu says, "That sounds like a great idea, I don't think a 23 year old like me should continue to live with their parents anymore anyway".
Suddenly Rayla gets a sickening feeling in her stomach and says, "Minoru-kun and Chikyu-Sensei, I think there is a Cladis in the area". Minoru asks Chikyu, "Chikyu-sensei, could you join us for this battle? It would make for a good test for your powers I think", and Chikyu tells him, "Sure, I want to see what I'm capable". They then see a furry frog with a scaled tail fly past the classroom. Chikyu asks, "How do I transform back into a beast?" and Minoru tells him, "Concentrate and you should be able to transform". He concentrates and is able turn back into his beast form. Rayla and Minoru turn in their beast forms as well.
Minoru then says, "Jiézhì zhàng'ài", to create the Beast Arena trapping the Cladis in the area with them. Rayla says, "Fowl Creature, me and my team will defeat you to keep you from spreading misery to our world. Minoru-san focus on magic attacks, Chikyu-Sense will fight with Earth attacks, I will focus on fire and light attacks". Both agree to her plan, Minoru says, "Lǜ dāo tóuzhí", to summon a barrage of green metallic spikes at the Cladis. Rayla says, "Fire Meteor Shower", while holding her hand forward to shoot a barrage of small fiery balls at the Cladis. Chikyu says, "Earth Spike Rise", to summon a row. Rayla suddenly remembers something about fire and gets an idea. She lifts one hand to the sky and the other hand to her hip, she then says, "Fire Glamour Lightning", which causes a huge blast of lightning and fire to hit the Cladis and defeats it instantly. She is the given a small yellow tooth like object, Minoru says, "It is Cladis Tooth, which is worth 4 points".
All three then turn back to normal. Chikyu says, "That was more exciting than any JRPG I have ever played", and Minoru says, "Glad to hear, I will give you the number to call so you can move into Maison Rozu". Minoru then hands over the business card for Rayla's aunt and Chikyu says, "Thank You, I will call as soon as I'm home". Chikyu then says, "Later", and leaves. Rayla then says, "Minoru-san, I will try harder not to kiss anyone else, okay", and Minoru says, "I am happy to hear that Rayla-Sama".
