Chapter 2 The Princess And Her Knight

The strange man dressed as hunter says, "Oh yes finally, I have found 2 beasts to hunt down and defeat". Rayla asks, "Who are you? And what did you mean when you said you would hunt us down?" He says, "My name is John and I am beast hunter". Rayla says, "What, you hunt down people like me and Minoru just because were different from you". John replies, "Yes, so what", and Rayla says, "That's discrimination you know, which technically makes you about the same as week old garbage and socks that smell like rotting fish".

John says, "What did you just say to me?" and Rayla replies, "That you're just like garbage and smelly socks". Minoru says, "I don't think you should be insulting someone who wants our kind erased from the surface of the world forever". Rayla says, "Oh sorry but I just can't stand people who discriminate others". John says, "How dare you refer to me as filth, I am from a long and noble line of beast hunters". Rayla says, "More like a long line of people who discriminate others just for being different you Stinky toad". John says, "Ok, no more mister nice guy, now I'm going to get rid of you for good", and pulls out a big gun.

Minoru says, "Now you've done it Rayla-sama", and Rayla says, "I'm sorry but I told you I can't stand people like him". John then fires a rocket at them but Minoru grabs Rayla's hand and says, "Shùn yí", while raising his hand before they disappear in a flash of blue light. They both then show up in an empty ally. Rayla asks him curiously, "How did you do that?" and Minoru replies, "I used my beast power which is magic". Rayla asks, "Can I use magic too Mahōkishi-san?" and Minoru tells her, "Yes but you can use all beast powers as you are an imperial type beast".

Rayla asks, "What is an imperial type beast?" and Minoru tells her, "The most powerful and strongest of all beast types". Rayla asks him, "Why am I an imperial type beast?" and Minoru tells her, "It is in your great and noble lineage going back over 750 years". Rayla says, "What do you mean by my lineage?" and Minoru tells her, "You come from long line of imperial beasts". Rayla says, "How come I have never heard about this before?" and Minoru says, "It was to keep you safe until the day your powers would awaken".

Just then John shows up on a building and says, "So there you guys are, now stand still so I can get rid of you both at the same time". He then looks again to see that their running down the street. Rayla says, "He is sure a stupid idiot to tell us that isn't he", and Minoru says, "Yeah, he sure is not that bright to tell us that". John jumps on the tops of buildings to follow them. Rayla and Minoru are stopped when they come to a dead end at the end of the ally. John says, "At last I have you both pinned down", and points a rocket launcher at them.

Rayla says, "Wait Stop", and accidently shouts blast of fire at him. John says, "Ouch, Ouch, ok you have this time you foul beasts, but I swear that the next time we meet will be the last time, you can bet on it", and runs off. Rayla says, "One little fire accident and he gives up, now that is weak". Minoru says, "I know, for a beast hunter, he was pretty stupid and weak". Rayla asks, "How do I turn back to normal, I can't stay like this forever, and plus I have school tomorrow". Minoru says, "Xiànzài shuìjiào, huí dào zhèngcháng", while swiping his hand pass Rayla's forehead, which causes her to turn back to normal and fall asleep suddenly.

When Rayla wakes up in the morning, she is surprised to see that she is back to normal and that there isn't a big hole in the wall of her apartment. She gets dressed into her school uniform and heads down for breakfast with the rest of the tenants but surprised when she sees Minoru sitting at the table in his school uniform. He says, "Good morning Rayla-sama", and Hanako walks in and notices Minoru. She cheerfully asks Rayla, "Oh Ray-chan, is Minoru-kun your new boyfriend?" and Rayla says, "No, I am too busy with work and school to have a relationship". Hanako asks him, "Are you interested in Ray-chan Minoru-kun?" and he tells her, "You could say something like that, but I think of her as more of my master than girlfriend though".

Rayla says, "What are you talking about?" in a shocked voice. Minoru then notices the time and says, "I think I should help you walk to school Rayla-sama", and grabs her and runs with her to school. As they walk in the gates of the school, Rayla looks around and sees many of the other girls at school are angry with her. She tells Minoru, "I must get going", but accidently trips and almost falls down the stairs but Minoru catches her is his arms. He asks her, "Are you okay Rayla-sama?" and she replies, "Yes I am". He says, "That's good", and helps her stand up. She then says, "Good bye", and heads to class.

After class she is grabbed from behind by some girls from another class and taken to a club room where she is tied up. One of the girls who has green hair and eyes says, "Hello, my name is Minako Manata, a 1st year and president of the Minoru Mahōkishi fan club". Rayla asks her, "Ok but what does that have to do with me". Minako slaps some tape on her mouth and says, "Well it seems that Mahōkishi-sempai has taken a shine to you and as his fan club, we cannot allow you to get too close to him. So if you promise to stay away from him, we let you go".

Just then Minoru bursts in and unties Rayla and grabs her in his arms. He tells them, "If you don't leave Rayla-Sama alone, I will have this club abolished by the student council. He then jumps out the window and asks Rayla, "Are You ok Rayla-sama?" She says, "Yes I am but didn't get to eat any lunch because of those girls". Minoru says, "Would you please accept this as a gift Rayla-sama?" and gives her his lunch. Rayla asks him, "But what are you going to eat for lunch". Minoru says, "I will be perfectly fine, all that matters to me is your wellbeing", and walks away.
