Chapter 3 Life is Like an RPG

 After School, Rayla goes to her locker to grab her shoes and walks outside of the school with Hanako when Minoru walks up to them and asks, "Can I please walk you home Rayla-sama?" Rayla replies, "You can if you want to but you don't have to if you don't want to". Minoru says, "But I have to, it is my duty to protect and serve my master at all costs". Rayla says, "Could you please stop saying stuff like that please, it is so annoying and embarrassing". Minoru says, "I'll try Rayla-sama".

Hanako asks, "What day is it again?" and Rayla replies, "According to my phone it is Tuesday". Hanako says, "Oh no, I forgot I have gardening club activities on Tuesday, sorry Ray-chan, I got to head back to school, See you later". Rayla says, "Wait, don't leave me alone with Mister Your My Master". But Hanako pretends to not hear her and runs off. Minoru asks, "Is anything wrong Rayla-Sama?" and She replies, "Yes, you're what is wrong, how am I master anyways Minoru-Kun".

He says, "Well that is because I am contracted to you Rayla-sama", and Rayla replies, "What, I don't remember ever forming a contract with anyone". Minoru is about to say something when Rayla suddenly gets a strange feeling and collapses to her knees. Rayla says, "What is wrong with me? Why do I feel so weird?" Minoru says, "Oh no, it must be a Cladis, for one to show up now of all times". Rayla stands up and says, "What is a Cladis? Sounds kind of cute to me?"

Minoru says, "They're far from cute, they are vicious monsters who spread negative emotions and can take on a variety of forms, it is our job as beasts to rid the world of them". Rayla says, "Wait, you mean I will have to kill something, but I am against destroying other living things".

Minoru says, "We're not going to destroy it, just send it back to it's own dimension, plus Cladis can cause horrible things like murder and suicide". Rayla says, "If they do that, then I want to get rid of it, so how do I transform". He replies, "Just concentrate and think of your true self".

Rayla tries to concentrate and think of true self, she feels nothing happening. Rayla asks, "Why do I feel like nothing happened?" and Minoru says, "But it did work Rayla-sama". He pulls out his iPhone and shows her the reflection; she sees that she is in her beast form once again. She asks, "Huh, but how, I didn't feel like anything happened", and Minoru Replies, "The Magical Transformation is different for everyone". Minoru than says, "Zhuǎnxíng", and transforms into his beast form in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly a monster that has the body of a snake but the head of a shark appears and Minoru says, "Jiézhì zhàng'ài", which creates an arena like barrier to form with only them and the monster inside. Rayla says, "Where are we?" and Minoru replies "This is the Beast Arena, an area that any beast can summon to fight with both Cladis and other beasts". Rayla asks, "Is to prevent damage to buildings and protect innocent people?" and Minoru replies, "Yes Rayla-sama".

Rayla than says, "How do I use my powers? I have no idea", and Minoru says, "Use your imagination and think of something". The monster than tries to uses its tail to hit both of them but Minoru grabs Rayla's arm and jumps to get them both out of the way. They make a good landing and Minoru raises his hand and says, "Huǒ zǐdàn", which causes a huge ball of fire to hit the monster. Rayla than tries to think of an attack but has a hard time concentrating, the monster tries to hit Rayla with a blast of dark energy but Minoru takes the hit for her knocking him unconscious immediately.

Rayla rushes to Minoru but he won't wake, Rayla gets super mad and says, "You foul beast, you will pay for this". She than thinks about light and flies into the air using her wings and raises both her hands in the air and says, "Super Ultra Light Ray", which summons a huge ray of light that destroys the instantly. Minoru than gets up and says, "What happened?", and sees Rayla holding what looks like a small pink heart-shaped diamond. Rayla says, "What is this?" and Minoru replies, "That is Cladis heart, which is worth 12 points".

Rayla says, "Why did the Cladis drop this and why is it worth points?" and Minoru replies, "Cladis will drop these things known as cores, and the colour and shape indicates how many points it is worth, and if you get 48 points you can have a wish granted". The arena than disappears and Rayla and Minoru than turn back to normal. Rayla says, "Why do we get points for defeating Cladis?" and Minoru replies, "I guess you could call it our main motivation for fighting Cladis".

They then both start walking and Rayla asks, "Why do we need points to motivate us to fight? What about doing the right thing?" Minoru replies, "If there wasn't a points-to-get prizes system, than what is the point of fighting for beasts". Rayla says, "What if a beast wishes for someone to die or something bad like that?" and Minoru replies, "There are limitations on what we can use the wishes we earn for you know". Rayla says, "Ok that's good, but how are beasts created", and Minoru replies, "In our case, it is from our heritage, but people can become beasts from a number of different sources, like wishing on a star for the power to help others to being kissed by an imperial beast such as yourself".

Rayla says, "You mean I have the power to turn ordinary human beings into beasts just by kissing them, what if I accidently kiss someone by knocking into them". Minoru replies, "Doesn't matter, kissing a person will turn them into a beast, whether it is accidental or not. Also kissing someone causes them to turn into a beast as well as form a unbreakable contract with you".

Rayla says, "Wait does that mean I have kissed you before?" and Minoru replies, "I am contracted to because of our families, you see, since a long time ago, the beasts of the Mahōkishi family form a contract with the beasts of the Himeakari family that would last for all generations".

Rayla says, "So that is way you think of me as your master, it is because my ancestors formed a contract with your ancestors". Rayla than notices a moving van leaving Maison Rozu, Rayla then runs up to her aunt Hina and asks, "Hey aunt Hina, is someone moving in?" Hina replies, "Yes, a high schooler named Minoru Mahōkishi is moving into the room next to your room". Rayla than looks at Minoru and says, "You're moving in right next door to me, but why?" Minoru replies, "So I can protect and serve you better Rayla-Sama". Rayla than says, "Why does it feel like my life going to get a whole more interesting", and walks into Maison Rozu.
