Ok, I started this before Christmas and planned on finishing it around the holidays but I'm dumb and that didn't happen but it's not actually that Christmas-y so you'll be fine if you read it in August or whatever xo baby have fun
The attractive young blonde woman shuffled her papers and put them in her briefcase. She sighed. It was always so hectic around the holidays.
"Zelda"
she looked up from her desk to see her coworker beckoning.
"Boss wants to see you in his office" "alright, thanks"
Zelda replied. She pushed out her chair and stood up.
"You wanted to see me?" She asked standing in the doorway of the large office.
"Yes, come in" said her boss woman. "You're a hard worker, one of our best in the business. That's why I need you on this assignment."
Zelda nodded.
"A research position just opened up in a small town, we need you to fill it. Collect samples and data, that stuff for a few weeks and report back to me. It's an environmental impact study.''
"it sounds like a great opportunity but a small town?" Zelda asked
"yes, will that be a problem? I thought you grew up in a place like that"
"yeah, but that was a long time ago" "well buckle up kid, it's only for a couple weeks. You'll be back before Christmas" Zelda sighed
"what's the name of the town?"
"Ha- ha-tino? I'm not sure-"
said her boss
"hateno" said Zelda, exhaling
"that's it! How'd you know?'' her superior asked
"Because that's my hometown" Zelda said
quietly"We hope you enjoyed your flight on rito airlines, welcome to the riverside airport, we will now begin unloading" Zelda closed her botany book and put it away, taking down her carry-on.
