I was at this party and honestly I don't know why I'm here. I went to this concert with my friend Kelly. I didn't know the artist but Kelly was a huge fan and now some how we at the after party. Like what? I don't care I guess as long as Kelly is happy.
I do have sensory issues though and loud noises and people aren't for me so I put my noise cancelling headphones on that I took off for like 2 seconds. I told Kelly I was going to find a quiet place to sit and for her to text me when she's ready to go.
She nodded and kept dancing on this random guy. I went to the back somewhere where the lights weren't flashing and the music was barely noticeable. I am very sensitive to flashing lights so I had my sunglasses on.
When I got to this random back area I sat down on the couch and just scrolled through my phone. At one point the silence got to much and I felt like I couldn't breathe so I took the headphones and the sunglasses off. The party was far away so I felt more comfortable.
I was alone but I liked it here. It was nice. Quiet. And I could see Kelly from here to make sure she's safe. She looked over at me and signed if I was okay. I signed back that I was and she nodded and carried on dancing.
I love talking to Kelly through sign language. It helped me communicate better when I freeze up and can't talk.
After a couple of seconds I felt someone sorta standing over me. I looked up and it was the women from the concert that was performing. I smiled at her and just looked back at my phone.
She tapped me on my shoulder and waved her hand hello. I waved back. She started doing weird hand signals so I looked at her confused and signed "what are you trying to say?" She huffed and sighed.
"I should've taken that sign language course." She said.
"I can teach you." I said quietly. Her head snapped to look at me.
"You can hear?" She asked going to sit next me.
"Yeah"
"So why where you signing with your friend and why where you wearing headphones at my concert?"
"I don't communicate well much so me and my friend find it easier for me to communicate in sign language and I have sensory issues so that's why I was wearing headphones."
"Well what made you come to a concert?"
"My friend she's a huge fan."
"Yeah I noticed her. Call her over so I can say hello." I nodded and locked eyes with Kelly and signed for her to come over. She came running.
"Are you okay? What's wrong? Do you need to go home cause we can go? Is this all too much??" She rushed out worriedly. I laughed.
"I'm fine kellz but Nicki here wanted to say hi."
"OH MY FUCKING GOD?!??! NICKI?!!?! OMG WHAT THE FUCK OMG HI OMG IM LIKE YOUR BIGGEST FAN OMG YOU ARE JUST SO AMAZING OMG. I CANT BELIEVE THE QUEEN OF RAP WANTS TO SAY HI TO ME OMG THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!" Kelly screamed.
Nicki just laughed and got up hugging her. They talked for awhile and took some pics and videos. It was very cute. I sat quietly with my headphones on again cause Kelly was being very loud.
After awhile Kelly tapped my shoulder and signed that she was sorry for being so loud and that she's going back to party. I signed that it was okay and let her go.
Nicki sat next to me again and looked at me so I took my headphones off. She was very beautiful and her music was okay.
"What?" I asked shyly.
