Kris's POV.

After our training session was over, and continued walking, we soon arrived at a big black and golden door. But to (Y/n)'s and Ralsei's surprise... It was open. "The door... is open?!" (Y/n) questioned quite loudly. Ralsei lifted his hand to his chin in thought. "No wonder Lancer was able to come through..." I looked at them,  not really understanding their confusion, so the girl decided to to quickly sum it up for me. "This door leads to the rest of the kingdom of darkness. It hasn't been opened since I came here and met Ralsei. I wonder how the little Lancer managed to get it open." I slowly nodded, kind of understanding their point.

"Kris..." I was addressed once more. "There's something you need to understand. Once we go through this door, our adventure to save the worlds will officially begin. It's a journey bound to happen but that doesn't mean our choices don't matter too. This kingdom is full of different kinds of creatures, Kris. How we treat them, might effect how this story ends, so.... Let's try and make good choices... alright?" (Y/n) suggest with a slightly pleading look.

'I... I'm not so sure about that. Do my choices really matter? Because up until this point in my life, I was always convinced that no matter what kind of decision I make, the consequences never change. When Asriel wanted to go to college, I tried to convince him not to... or at least, to not move that far away. But it didn't matter. He left anyway. Today alone was full of option where I didn't have any say. I didn't want to be projects partners with Susie. I didn't want to go get chalk. The list goes on.' I probably had a very troubled look on my face because Ralsei started rambling, wanting to defuse the tension. "... Oh (Y/n), you know that that is a lot to ask of someone. I'm sorry, I'm sure she didn't mean to put any pressure on you." I didn't say anything for a few seconds but then I waved my hand. "It's ok. I can handle it."

Both of them got small smiles on their faces. "Kris, I knew you were a hero the moment I saw you." Ralsei exclaimed with awe while (Y/n) gave a laugh. "Still, sorry about that. I didn't want to put you on the spot. I tend to be a little over dramatic sometimes. Let's just try our best, allright?" She asked with a reassuring smile that instantly put me at ease. I gave a calm smile of my own. "Yeah... Let's." Then we went through the door, Ralsei closing it behind us with a loud bang.

On the other side was a forest. The leaves on the trees, which stood at the sidelines of the purple path in front of us, were bright shades of red and pink. It was actually really peaceful to be honest. Before we continued, I noticed how (Y/n) was glancing towards a bush beside the door. She had a grim expression, looking down, as if not wanting to look at it. Ralsei took a step towards her and put a hand on her shoulder. It seemed to have calmed her nerves because she gave him a thankful smile and started walking, me and Ralsei following her close behind.

We walked for a while when suddenly music started to play from somewhere. I looked around, trying to find where it was coming from. "Don't bother. The music is just... magic." I wasn't quite satisfied with that explanation but let it go nonetheless. "Anyway Kris, welcome to the field of hopes and dreams." Ralsei said. I noticed a sign up ahead and read it.

The handwriting was quite messy, as expected of a little kid. (Y/n) glanced over my shoulder. "Well, isn't that a warm welcoming, you little stinker." She said sarcastically. I had to hold in my chuckle at her acting.

After a bit more walking, we encountered someone. A darkener creature named Rudinn. 'Allright, here we go...' I decided to check first and told the other two to only defend for now. They did exactly that. Suddenly a small textbox appeared above Rudinn.
