(Y/n)'s POV.
After that embarrassing moment with the white ribbon, we decided to continue through the maze, hopefully catching up to Susie soon. All of a sudden, a darkener rabbit(?) ran towards us, shouting frantically. "W-Woah! Wait a minute! Even if you're my enemy, I've got to warn you!" The rabbit had tears in his eyes, breathing heavily in fear. Ralsei, being the kind little goat he is, instantly went up to him and layed a calming hand on his shoulder. "It's allright mister, you're ok. Now, take a deep breath and tell us what happened." The rabbit did like requested, taking a few breathes before continuing. "A purple beast is roaming, clobbering anyone who dares block her way!" The rabbit began to sob. "... We don't even like fighting... th-the king left us no choice..." I heard Kris let out a grunt from beside me, followed by a quiet "Damn it, Susie..." Ralsei's eyes shot open in slight panic. "O-Oh... Guys, we need to stop Susie, quick... Don't worry mister, we'll take care of this."
And with that, we rushed away from the rabbit, who looked after us with a confused expression, probably not understanding why we would voluntarily go after a purple beast like that.
But as we were walking, I fell a little behind Ralsei and Kris, who were talking about how to convince Susie to stop her rampage. I just couldn't get out of my head what that poor darkener had said. "The king left us no choice..." That sentence got me thinking.
'What else had changed since I had left? It has been 9 years after all. I knew that the king of spades would rule with tyranny but.... I don't know. Are my kings alright? The king of spades probably threw them into a cell, like he promised he would. Have they forgotten about me? Will I ever see them again? What if they are disappointed in me for taking so long to come back? They must think that I abandoned them!' My body started to tremble and tears threatened to roll down my cheeks against my will. That of course did not go unnoticed by the two boys in front of me.
"(Y/n), are you alright?" Ralsei asked, turning around as Kris did the same. As quickly as I could, I wiped the tears away, giving both of them a fake smile. "W-What? O-Oh! I'm fine Ralsei. Don't worry about it." Ralsei didn't seem fully convinced and I could tell he was about to insist on me telling him the truth but before he could, Kris put a hand in his shoulder and shook his head. Ralsei glanced back towards me before sighing and letting the subject go for now. 'Oh my God, thank you Kris!'
I would tell both of them what's on my mind eventually, but right now is not the best time. We still need to find Susie and stop her from attacking random darkeners. I'm glad that Kris seemed to have known that I wasn't ready to talk about it.

At the end of the maze, we found Lancer once again, who immediately spotted us. "Ho ho ho! Somehow, you survived the maze! But don't count your blessings before they hatch...! Let's see how you fare against THIS team!
From behind Lancer, four Hathys, the royal guards of the king of hearts, appeared. 'So the king of spades even got the other kings servant under his control. Freaking figures.' The little prince went out of the way, not wanting to get caught up in the middle of this battle.
Kris got ready to dodge but Ralsei and I just exchanged a knowing look. I leaned over to Kris, pulling him down slightly so that I could whisper in his ear. "Kris relax, their attacks won't hit. Trust me." He glanced at me for a moment, silently questioning my reasoning but nodded soon after, deciding to trust our judgment.
We instantly flatter the Hathys. We didn't even bother defending, because when the Hathys went to attack us, their attacks just circled around us. The four opponents all using the same attack. Because of that, the three of us could just stand close to each other, not needing to worry about getting hit and wait for the Hathys's attacks to pass. Kris looked at the heart-like attacks almost dancing around us in amazement. I elbowed him in the side. "What did I tell you? Are we good or are we good?" I grinned in triumph, also watching the hearts around us. Because of that, I failed to notice Kris continuesly staring at me with a faint blush on his cheeks. "The best..." He whispered out, not really saying this to anyone.
