"We are not working with her Fury." Natasha huffed as Fury pinched the bridge of his nose.
"You don't have a choice, Agent Romanoff." Maria stepped forward, all attention falling to her.
"This is ridiculous. You can't just have someone new join the team, not without us knowing about it first. My money is what allows this team to have a place like this. I think I deserve to know who my money goes towards." Stark takes a stand next to Natasha. "Friday, pull everything up we have of this woman."
"We have no records on file boss." Tony slams his hand down on the table.
"How is that possible? It's like she doesn't even exist."
"Because to the outside world she doesn't exist Tony." Maria taps her tablet a few times bringing up CCTV footage of Y/n and Wanda who are sitting on the couch talking to each other. "She's a ghost as they say. Easy to hide, no one outside of this room knows her true identity."
"We don't even know her true identity. All we know is she is a woman. White hair, violet eyes, a massive scar going across the bottom of her face and up the left side. We know her first name is Y/n and that's it." Rhodey joins in and Maria let's out an agitated huff.
"Friday, do facial recognition. Find anything that matches." Tony sits down with a smug smirk, that's one thing he knew would help find out the true identity of Y/n
"Right away sir."
"I think we should give her a chance." Pietro's voice thick with his accent as he stays in his seat twiddling his thumbs.
"You're only saying that because you know her." Pietro shrugs at Natasha's claim.
"Even so. She said she is trying to help us to do something, or not do something. I don't know I wasn't really paying attention, but it seems like we need her help."
"I agree with the kid." Steve stands up, moving to lean against the back of Pietro's chair.
"You can't be serious right now Steve. Letting a stranger join our team because she said she knew your friend from World War 2." Steve scoffs at Tony's harsh tone.
"She also knows what happened to your parents, Tony. Don't forget that." Steve smirks when Tony bows his head.
"Look. If we are going to let her stay here we need ground rules." Natasha kicks her chair letting out a harsh breath as Tony cracks.
"You cannot be serious. She was literally in the cell not even 24 hours ago and now here you all are thinking it's perfectly safe for her to join the team. Tony she made you so mad you nearly let her out of the cell. Steve, she mind warped you and you don't remember a single thing from your encounter. Sam, well she dissed your wings and even you couldn't get her talking. You get everybody to talk. I don't understand why you are so okay with her being allowed to join the team."
Natasha was getting more and more frustrated as she went on, she had no idea why she hated Y/n so much but something about her didn't sit right with Natasha. Natasha knew that she could be paranoid, the way she was raised had taught her to trust no one and always only ever do things for yourself. She was getting better at trusting the team, working alongside them, and protecting them. Clint was a big hero when it came to this progress Natasha had made, but one mention from the red room and her sister and it felt like all of that progress had been tossed aside.
"Fury, you told us she was a part of Hydra, she has seen the red room. She knows Melina, who is a highly trained red room assassin who has been working with them for over 40 years. How she knows I have no clue, but she does. She also knows about The Winter Soldier, she is holding back information and you want us to have her as a part of our team. I don't trust her in any way shape or form Fury. You brought her to us under false pretences. You told us she was a highly dangerous serial killer, who has bodies that have yet to be found all over the world. And then the next moment she is an Agent. Make it make sense."
"Pardon the intrusion Agent Romanoff, but I have pulled up all pictures, paintings and drawings that are a facial match for Y/n." Friday starts relaying them onto the screen, finishing with the most recent one taken from the CCTV footage.
"What's the oldest picture on there Friday?" Natasha asks after a moment of trying to calm herself down, not really wanting to pop a vein in her head from all the anger.
"Agent Romanoff, the oldest depiction of Y/n is linked to an old cave drawing over 72'000 years ago." The room falls silent at the A.I words.
"That's impossible." Tony's jaw slacks when Friday brings up the picture of a red cave painting.
It shows a figure standing on a large cliff, their arms put to their sides as waves leave their hands and move down the cliff to a crowd of figures below them. The figure has a crown on their head. But that's not what is taking their interests. It's what's above the figure on the mountain that they are all staring at. It's clear as day, Y/n's face has been drawn on within this cave painting.
Her facial features are almost unchanged, her eyes in this picture leak fire, her hair flowing out in every direction. Her mouth is open and lines of red move in the direction of the figure on the mountain, the corners of her lips creating an evil smirk.
"Friday what does this drawing show?"
"Sir, it shows the story of how tribes within South Africa were joined together by a union of their leaders. Who dictated a single leader over all others. This leader was known as Die oë van die Viooltjie Vuur which translates to The eyes of the Violet Fire. The person with the crown was who the clans chose to lead them, and it was said they could communicate with the God on earth known as the Violet Fire. This God on earth is the face you can see above the figure. It's said that the god crashed into earth many moons before their time, but when the war looked to be never ending the God took matters into their own hands. They fought for no one but themselves. Slaughtering hundreds of men, laughing and singing as they did so, until one day the God simply created purple fire and got everyone to stop. She commanded them to get along and appoint a king. And the rest is history. Without the Violet Fire, the nation of South Africa would not exist as one but up to 6 different countries."
"So we can confirm that it is Y/n in this painting." Sam gestured around the room.
"From some paintings from a caveman and some myths. Yeah I don't think so." Natasha scoffed and thought that this whole thing was ridiculous.
"Natasha, it really is plausible. I mean we have a man that turns green when angry, a god who controls lightning who's from a different planet and is over 1500 years old. Pietro has his speed, Wanda has her wiggly woos. Steve is a super soldier. Is it really that ridiculous to you, or do you just not want to believe it?" Sam points out the facts.
"It's ridiculous. No one can be 73'000 years old. It is impossible."
"Nothing is impossible Lady Natasha." All the heads in the room spin to see a short haired Thor enter the room followed closely by a tired looking Banner.
"Thor, Banner, why were we not informed of your presence?" Fury tilted his head in question.
"We thought we would surprise you all, but we found you here arguing." Banner shyly sits down at the only free chair.
"That person right there." Thor moves to the screen pointing to the drawing of Y/n. He turns to look at everyone who are already looking at him bracing themselves for whatever he has to say.
"That is Y/n Y/l/n Protector of The Stones."
