The raindrops trickled down my dorm room window. It reminded me of tears streaming down someone's face. Don't ask me why, but it did. The window was fogged up slightly, and all you could possibly make out was the out line of the city, also the bright lights.
San Diego was not as polluted as Las Angeles. There was less smog, less trash lying around in the streets or ditches. The ocean breeze was more salty and sweet. It was more beautiful.
I sat there, staring out the window even though I couldn't see a thing, waiting for my best friend (also roommate), Dominique to get the hell over here.
Even though I had a laptop with MySpace on it, head phones and a very comfy photon couch, Id rather stare out a crappy window. Lost in thought.
The door creaked open, and her soft footsteps were heard coming down the very teensy hall we had. I turned to see her. Her black hair was nestled into a fluffy, messy bun, with some strands carelessly hanging out. Baggy pants, a Linkin Park tee, and some beat up shoes she's had for over two years now we're carelessly thrown on her.
Dom was more stressed out than anyone. Let's just say that she slightly just started to slip her way into Jorel's shoes. She was depressed, and she never really wanted to go visit LA because of her drug addict brother. His promise between both of them was slowly being shattered into pieces.
"Promise me you'll stay clean after this month?" She'd say.
"I promise with all my heart." George would quietly say.
Michael and Chester were already getting famous with their band. Too famous to the point where they would have to hide themselves in hoodies and gloved hands when they came to visit. A year passed, and almost the whole collage knew the guys. We were pretty popular I guess you could say.
All we could possibly do with the guys is call them, and rarely go visit them. If we did it was on the weekends we had off or holidays. I felt like we were slowly drifting apart.
Jorel was spending his last week in some rehab center. He could only call once a week, and hearing his husky recovering voice was something that I could listen to everyday. It was a sober, detoxified voice that I could hear once again just like in high school.
George, Aron, Dylan, Matthew, and Jordon decided that it would be nice to start a band, even if they couldn't make it anywhere. They met this guy named Jeff, and I guess he decided to join the guys in it all. They had videos on MySpace, if them wearing masks when they performed. Jordon used a Del Taco back for a mask, while the others just used hockey masks customized by themselves.
Danny was in collage, and was still debating on if he should do American Idol or not. I told him to just go for it, that they would love his voice and that he could definitely get to the finals.
"Hello?" Dominique said into her phone, slightly nervous.
There was a faint large voice coming through the phone. I couldn't make out what it was saying, but I knew it belonged to George.
"What? Really?!" I jumped, hearing her squeal slightly. She coved the phone and looked me in the eye excitedly, "He's actually clean for a couple weeks now. Can you believe it?!"
They continued to talk, and I sighed, sitting down on the couch. It felt so weird being somewhere without the guys.
"J's getting out early!"
