"Did you tell his parents?!" My brother whisper-shouted in the hall way next to my door.
I shook softly as I lay in bed. It was 1 in the morning, and George's large voice had woke me up. His voice was so clear even behind the door, it was as if he was in the room with me.
I've known Jorel for about my whole life. It just tore me apart seeing him depressed. J was never that person. Now that it was getting to an uncontrollable point in his depression, it scared me.
That's why I was shaking.
He could possibly die by just one slit of the wrist. Cutting open a vain is almost the easiest thing you can do to yourself.
I crept towards the door slowly, just to press my ear against the door to hear the voice on the other side of the phone. I place my hands and ear against the cold door.
"He was too scared," the voice calmly yet shakily said, "too scared to tell them because he knew if it came to it he would have to go to a boarding school."
George sighed, which made me feel like he was hesitating. He took a step to the right, making the floorboards creak faintly, "If it has to come to that-"
"No! We're not going to have him go to a f*cking boarding school just for that. I promised--"
"It would make him get over depression; he would be happy again--"
"I promised that I wouldn't tell his parents."
"Well, I didn't promise him anything. I can tell them."
"I still don't want you to, damn it."
Tian. I just realized her deep female voice. She was pissed. I've never heard her voice sound so stern nor angry. It almost made me shiver because of how dark it was.
"I think it's worth it." George admits. I knew he wasn't trying to be the bad guy, but it seemed like he was just the way he phrased it.
"It's his first time." Tian breathed, "Maybe it'll be his last."
I slowly cracked the door open, peeking through the small opening. The light hit my face and George slowly spun around, the phone to his ear. My heart pounded spontaneously as we made eye contact.
"Georgey, give him longer." The words shakily came out of my mouth.
His eyes glued onto me. It was as if he was in a trance. George didn't blink or shuffle his feet. Finally, he opened the door all the way.
"Fine." George says, "I'm sorry if I sounded like the villain, but it's for the best. If he does it more than 5 times, Im telling."
"Thank you, Johnny." Tian whispers, then soon hangs up.
"He can't be alone. I-I don't want him to be alone--"
"Sis, he will fight it. Tian was on the phone with me for more than an hour just to talk about her going to his house every day while his parents worked and what not. It'll be fine." He threw his massive arms around me, pulling me into a hug. He must've saw me shaking.
I know exactly how I'm going to end this book! A couple chapters left, and it's going to be complete.
